How Many Left, Puma's still on the road

I had mine for 20.5 years and did just over 221k miles before the Gods of Iron and Water took him from me! 😭 You never know, maybe lots of people recognised a good thing and put theirs away in showroom condition into climate controlled storage! Hoping they would appreciate, like an entire...

    Part Wanted Throttle cable

If you manage to find one, make sure you keep the metal clip out of the "stretchy" in-line device, that sits over the cambelt cover area! The new ones come without that clip and is supposed to be transferred onto it! I had my accelerator cable replaced on my 1.7 about 10 years ago and...

Part For Sale Post Project Giveaway

Oops, just realised your post heading said "Giveaway", NOT "Throwaway"! Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like a rant - I just thought "NO...ooo....ooo....oh!" However, everything good if you're giving it away to a good home! 😚 (y)

    Brighter headlights?

........Makes more sense with the photos! Now from my pc, as not on my phone! .... Oh yes as well, the second photo has the headlamp unit restraint device highlighted in red on the underside! That slides over the device on the body (a bit like the head of a very large round headed nail...

    Brighter headlights?

Cubatoo, Hi, if you do need to split the headlamp units to clean them, be aware that like most old plastic, the connecting clips will most likely snap off when you try to separate them! I found that 3 of the 4 clips had been snapped off, some time after having the Aircon compressor replaced...

p.s. Are the tailgate & drivers door in Pacific Green? At some point I might be interested in playing Dr. Frankenstein and trying to rebuild my old "Rusty Bustard", if I can get all the right parts! 😁. It's ALIVE!!!! 😂

Can I just say, if that is an engine management (PCM) wiring loom, with connectors to engine sensors, ABS, power steering, etc , etc., etc..., please for the love of God, don't scrap it!!!!!!!!!! Pushed into a small box, it won't take up much storage space, surely, to keep until you can find...

    Ford Puma 1999 1.7

Great looking car! 👍 So, does Sweden not put salt on the roads, to rust cars away to little bits, like the UK does, then? 🤔

Ford Puma 1.7 with very high RPM on idle.

sirrjm, Hi, re the remaining "floor it", or steady acceleration difference, could it be a sticking accelerator cable? It might move ok under gradual movement, but stick on a sudden movement, possibly? Also, is it the correct cable - the "stretchy" one, specific to the Puma, I think...

    C1967 & P1479

CherryVimto, Hi, I can't really help with these particular problems, but only with your comment about the C1967 possibly relating to the low fuel warning signal! I had my 1.7 for 20 years and always tried to fill up when it got down to a quarter of a tank, to avoid any dirt, water, etc...

    Deadlocked lockout

Jubei700, Hi, this is probably too late for you now, but on YouTube, I saw this method of opening a car window - officially sanctioned by US Police! 🤭 cop opens car window with plungers - Google Search Of course if you or anybody else got this to work on your Puma, with deadlocking on...

    Two little questions

Puman88, Hi, regarding the metallic rubbing noise you can hear in gear, when you take your foot off the accelerator, it could be from the right hand driveshaft intermediate bearing and restraining strap. Have you had that driveshaft out, to either replace the inner / outer boots or CV joints...

    Boot lock seized???

MerthO, Hi, sorry, my comments about trying to replace the remote keys crossed over with your first reply to mine and I hadn't noticed your location in your Forum ID. It looks like your English is too good to realise that you are outside the UK, so I just originally presumed you had a UK spec...

    Boot lock seized???

MerthO, I just realised you are the Black Puma from Prague! Well done for finding a rust free Puma from Sunny and road salt free Italy! In the UK, we can only dream of a rust free example. It's what did for mine in the end - well that and a rock at the edge of the road in the Lake...
