    Having just purchased from ebay I went for one at GBP29.95 made by TRW. Seems to be fine, but don't know how long it will last... The genuine Ford ones seem to have the logo on the item picture and are all GBP45ish. They start at GBP11 to GBP14 which I steered clear of. I went mid-range.

On reflection I get what you are saying - but the old MRJ's boot didn't 'fly' open, it more opened with 'style' (like buzz lightyear - falling with style), but yes standing water did get in on occasion as the water didn't get a chance to fall into the channels on either side...
