Thanks YOG all cleared up :ok: The car is now sorted and not losing fluid (pesky cylinder) Highlights the importance of servicing the brakes if ur cars getting on a bit which obviously most of ours are :lol:

I know its nit picking but it confused me no end up until i got inside the drum and used my noodle You learn something new everyday (on projectpuma) :wink:

Anyway, more importantly ive done some fart arsing around gathering tools and parts etc and have got as far as finding a leaking wheel/brake cylinder within the drum and replacing it with a spare i had in the garage (one of the benefits of hoarding spare cars lol) Didnt get as far as...

Isnt the slave cylinder located inside the gearbox :P

Do you mean Master Cylinder??

Update. Fluid is leaking from the driver side brake drum. I will amble off to the how too's in a minute. What am i likely to find once ive dismantled it???

Just last night i was turning into the car park where i live and whilst using the brakes the pedal went soft and sunk to the floor. (still managed to stop the car but something is definatly wrong) As it was pitch black all i could check was the fluid resorvior. Its gone from full to near the...

Obviously if anyone knows of a low mileage engine with history, you know who to let know :wink: (and fairly cheap aswell as most of my money has gone into raybans and f1 alloys for my gf's bday and a leather interior for my puma lol!)

He bought it to break, i am dubious about it and think ill give it a miss but wont hurt to look into it anyway seeing as ive got things to look for now! Cheers Everyone :thumbs:

Sport KA, nice! So in theory if the gases are getting through the cat ok then no damage is being caused but like you say will fail emissions on the MOT! From what shes told me the car drives fine also! Better start getting some pennies together i heard they cost a fair bit down at fords!
