    Deadlocked lockout

The locksmith told me he'd attended another lockout recently - same deal, locked the keys in the car - where they did have a spare key. They kept their spare key in the glove box...

    5th gear ratios.

Mines the same. It could definitely have benefited from a sixth gear, but I don't think it was ever envisaged to be a motorway cruiser.

    ULEZ Compliant?

D Milton handled mine as well. When originally submitted I included the V5 and the CoC. They emailed back to request the CoC. So I sent it again, they then emailed back to request the V5, specifically page 3 to confirm the vin (which is on page 2 and had already been sent). Anyway they...

    Ice, ice baby ;)

I see in other pictures it looks like there is some rear mounted bracket on the stock radio that I don't have in mine anymore. I guess because it has the extra cage thing.

    Deadlocked lockout

Thankfully the second locksmith who was an automotive key specialist had a Tibbe pick and picked the driver's door unlocked. He wasn't 100% confident and it took a few minutes, just because it's old and stiff and doesn't get used. He checked the passenger door lock and immediately gave up on...

    Ice, ice baby ;)

I have a question, mine was switched out for a single din years ago before we got the car. It doesn't have the slot underneath, just a blanking plate and a removable trim around the stereo. I looked at a cup holder solution but I don't think it will fit, too wide. However in taking everything...

    Deadlocked lockout

What an idiot, today I have locked myself out of the car with the keys and the dog in the boot. Used the fob to pop the boot, dumped everything in my hands in the boot to lift the dog in, was distracted by someone, and shut the boot. The cars locked, the boot's shut, and the car was double...

    2000 Ford Puma 1.7

Some pics from the body shop of the arches being cut out and replaced. Some fully rusted through holes, and absolutely needed doing, but not as bad behind the scenes as I was worried. You can also see evidence of all the work under the car that my dad has previously already done removing and...

    ULEZ Compliant?

I uploaded y5c and coc to tfl and they sent me an email with a pdf letter attached (opening a pdf from an email is an immediate red flag for malware but hey) saying I needed to send them the coc 😂

    Workshop manual?

I set up a Windows 7 x64 VM in VMware Workstation Player (didn't have Win 11 Pro for Hyper-V on my Surface tablet), but when i tried to install TIS it said it couldn't be installed on this version of Windows. Maybe i needed to use a 32bit version of Windows 7. I then failed to get a working...

    2000 Ford Puma 1.7

Turns out the above fears of ancient cam belt were unfounded, it was actually 20,000 miles and 14 years old. So fine. But now replaced of course. And speaking of replaced, it's had it's rear arches cut out on both sides, new metal welded in and made good. Inners have had rust...

    Workshop manual?

Nice, I thought there must be a native virtual environment option in Windows 11, over and above comparability mode, but the guides I started looking at were listing multiple third party options like VMware etc etc. I'll take another look at it now I know to try Hyper-V.

    Boot lock seized???

Were all the remote keys etc lost before you owned the car? Perhaps someone replaced the lock barrels to enable the car to be used, but didn't replace the boot lock barrel? Or maybe it never had remote central locking? I assumed all models would have had that, especially by 2001.
