Not much help from me on the other questions, but I think you might struggle fitting the ST brakes under 14" wheels. I believe they're 280mm roughly, so you might well need 15s, unless you had a motorsport type alloy perhaps!

I'm sure I read on another forum that the guy with the FRP rally car bought a FRP hub from Ford relatively recently? Didn't even cost that much, despite them machining it. That might be total rubbish of course :lol:

Would you get a used set of Ka Challenge dampers for that? Might be worth considering. A lot of aftermarket coilovers aren't ever so amazing. You very much get what you pay for. I think I'd much rather buy a used set of competition spec Bilsteins or the like and have them rebuilt than buy cheap...

I was looking at convincing my girlfriend to buy this, as it has the arches on already. Glad to see it being used for what we would have used it for! Will keep an eye on this!

Wasn't sure if the mounts might be different. There is actually an idea to fit a different type of IB5 box, from a Focus, to have cable shift (meaning the gearstick can be moved more easily to suit seating position), but perhaps using the 1.7 gears and an alternative final drive. Just wanted...

I'm not sure why you'd want to see pictures of man boobs, but there we are ;) No pics of the Puma on my laptop, but imagine a panther black 1.7 with Escort GTI wheels and you won't be far off. Not that it's going to stay anything like that!

Any idea how it needs to be shimmed?

Will this work? I know it will fit into the Escort IB5, but will it fit the 1.7 Puma box? A mate has one I can have cheap, thought it might help a bit, especially for the money!

Thanks for the welcome everyone. She actually has an Escort too, a 1.8 MK6 cab in Imperial Blue, as well as the Puma. I've got a little 1.4 Escort and a MK6 RS2000. Hopefully the Puma build will progress over winter, we're just arguing about engines at the moment :lol:

Good evening, Just registered, as my better half has a 1.7 Puma. I'm still a Ford man, but have a couple of Escorts. Do love the little cat though! The Puma is going to be turned into a track car initially, but will most likely morph into a rally car eventually! Thought I'd join up and see...
