Hi. I think £150 would be fair, just to cover money lost on MOT, battery etc. The car is in Ewell, Surrey (near Epsom).

Sadly I have to throw in the towel, my lovely "Pacific Green" Puma failed its MOT on engine mount rust. The engine is good, tyres are good, alloy wheels are good, clutch is shot, gearbox is good ...and it has a new battery :-) Would be a good donor for a Fiesta upgrade IMO. Buyer tows car away...

Thanks for that Frank, I just made a discovery while going through some of those: if I grab hold of the water pump pulley, I can easily rotate it with one hand so it slips round even though the belt is wrapped round it as normal. I am hoping therefor that it might just be a matter of tightening...

One of the sensors has probably gone phut. I had the same problem and found out the hard way that it was an MOT failure. I checked the impedance of both front sensors and one of them (driver's side) was suspect. I bought a new one from Euro Car Parts for £50, bashed the old one out and replaced...
