    diagnosing a judder - NOT wheel balance/tracking

Sorry for hijacking someone else's thread, but my vibration is proving to be a tricky bugger. Vibration is worst when accelerating out of left hand bends and accelerating at motorway speeds yet there is no vibration when there is little or no load going through, which points towards...

    diagnosing a judder - NOT wheel balance/tracking

Had my joint (CV? driveshaft?) changed and it didn't fix it. Judder came back pretty much straight away, though the bearing in the joint was badly worn and needed replacing anyway. Have it booked in for another bout of diagnosis but am expecting to have to source an os inner driveshaft.

    diagnosing a judder - NOT wheel balance/tracking

Having a very similar problem on mine. Heavy vibration on acceleration at +50mph and on exiting roundabouts & left handers. Have had the fronts aligned & balanced last week to minimal effect so had my local friendly mechanic check it out during the service today and he says the bearings in the...

    Failed MOT

I don't mind paying for it to get through the MOT before selling it, it was just that was the catalyst for investigating an alternative. On reflection, need to keep hold of the money to do the house up before selling it. Can't afford to get its replacement.....yet. (Not an FRP btw)

    Failed MOT

 Nearside rear & offside front. Was suggested it would be a couple of hundred quid for the brake pipes & fitting including another MOT. Needs to be done regardless, but not by me. Have a history of getting too attached to cars (not literally) so this might be the time to move it on...

    Failed MOT

Brake pipe corroded (x2) Gutted, had been perfect up to now IIRC Might be tempted to sell as I've seen the perfect potential replacement, wife/funds allowing.

    Alarm Nightmare

Cheers There is a Timpson local to work, so will give them a call. But my mechanic suggested getting new locks as the locks are knackered anyway. Wouldn't be changing the ignition, that works fine, it is just both door locks that are stiff and move around. Are the locks only available...

    Alarm Nightmare

Ha ha, exactly the same problem I've started having in the last week. My locks are a bit old and ropey and I was half expecting a problem like this to happen so was going to get a new lock set, and as I have only one key with the remote part not working, was going to get keys as well. Where...

    Saturday 1st November 2008 - ProjectPuma 1 Year Anniversary

As long as he didn't have a shotgun in hand. Could have been very messy. In more ways than one  Nice to see/meet everyone. Sorry we couldn't come on for evening food, but I'd promised Alfie a quick go on a driving game in the arcade and it was also getting a bit late by the time we...

Are littl'uns allowed to come too? I'm not allowed to enjoy myself on my own any more, so would have to bring the mini-Puma fan too.

    Cam belt change

Cambelt didn't need doing after all. He started stripping bits off and knew it had been done recently. Go to the belt and it still had writing on it. Result. Still cost £277 for the service, rear brake cylinders & the suspension mount that was causing the rumbling.
