Ford Puma 2000 W-Reg 1.7 Red £150

Ford Puma 2000 W-Reg 1.7 Red £150 Bought this back in early 2013 as a mate had the same and was most impressed with his. Great fun, ran it until the MOT expired in late summer 2013 and it has sat on the drive ever since. Mileage I recall was 73,000 with Ford Service history and a stamp for cambelt r...

Re: Red Puma front end check please

Thanks, I wasn't sure on the silver bar & grill initially and removed the lower mesh grill but the remaining combination has grown on me massively, won't be changing it, unlike the number plate!

Re: Idle issue pressing clutch pedal please help an old man!

Think I read there's a switch on the clutch pedal that can play up? Don't hold me to that, it's a vague recollection but think it had something to do with engine running problems?

Re: How To: Rear Beam Bush Replacement

Well done Sir, hard isn't it, I did this last Friday, what a ***** of a job.. Didn't have the special tool but gathered up a collection of parts and created uber puller MK2 (MK1 failed... see below) comprising 32mm socket, Cagiva W12 starter wheel, Mini front brake disk and Beta Alp gearbox sprocket...

Re: why do i have a hole for ciggerette lighter

Is there no cig lighter socket in either the ashtray or panel above the ashtray? You shouldn't need to run a wire, all Pumas had a ciggy lighter so the wiring will be there somewhere.

What's the origin of the gear knob? Was it the first 1500 standard Puma's that had this did I read??

Excellent guide. Can we add the descriptions of the pulleys to the drawing as mentioned? (what are pulley no's 2 & 3? Is 3 the alternator?)

Re: The £650 Puma

BRILLIANT, thanks  I've been struggling with this Spanish manual but think this diagram stops under the body, seems like there are more components above, sorted! (this is the Spanish Fiesta manual too lol, scraping the barrel)

Re: The £650 Puma

Great pic, I've been looking to see how the front strut assembly breaks down - centre row, second component down below the nut - what is that? Is it a plastic cover or a heavy metal item, looks metal?

Front struts, how are they mounted?

Been going over the car this afternoon and under closer inspection noticed it was slightly lower on the drivers side by about 10mm, looked under the bonnet and the drivers side strut top is protruding slightly higher explaining the difference in wheel to arch clearance - anyone have a diagram of how...

Side Repeaters - How To Remove

Recently picked up a Puma and it has ghastly "smoked" side repeaters, I want to replace with stock orange but cant see how they are fitted/removed, any pointers?

Thanks

Re: Red Puma front end check please

I bought it  It's actually OK, 73000 miles, FSH, cambelt done at 59000, strong clutch, good tyres, interior clean and unworn and even the steering wheel is not a sort of dissolved snotty mess like the others I have seen! Love it, it's like a go cart! Will get a couple of pics when I get 5 mins.

Red Puma front end check please

Got my eye on this Puma, is this front end correct? The lower cross bar is silver and is the grill normal? And what are the cable ties holding on? Is this a bit of a botch...?

Your advice please, ta!
