My Puma (formally pictures at last)

Hi Just an update. My next door neighbour reversed int my car and stoved in the passenger door. Something I could have done without. They will pay to have it sorted. Well I have fitted a new fuel filter, I think it is the first time it has been changed, it has done 144k. I have also fitted new front...

Fuel filter inlet pipe leak,

Hi Red.

Thanks for the reply....yes that horrible white clip. I thought a J clip was the only way to go, I thought I would ask before cutting the white clip off in case the plastic fuel line would not crush down enough to effectively seal. Then I would be in an even worse situation.

Fuel filter inlet pipe leak,

Hi. I changed my fuel filter, all came apart no problem, I even clipped the filter body back into position with the original clamp. However when under pressure the inlet pipe wanted to come off. When pushed back on and held into position it sealed perfectly. It would appear that it is not a leak pro...

My Puma (formally pictures at last)

Hi, About two years ago I purchased for £110 a pair of almost mint headlight assemblies. I have just fitted them, what a difference, they look so good compared to the old ones. I did regularly polish the old ones to try and maintain there appearance though. Now I have some spare light components I w...

My Puma (formally pictures at last)

Hi. I hope every one is keeping safe and well in these difficult times :? I retired in January so I am now fortunate to be a man of leisure. So now I have time and the good weather has arrived I thought I do post winter maintenance and shake down on the Puma. Although the engine has done only 31K th...

Hi. I can see where you are coming from. In the past I have restored MkI 60's Mini coopers to concourse show standard, even exporting two to Japan. I have also modified and customized cars. With my Puma I have backed it both ways, keeping it standard apart from bolt on bolt off bits, those being whe...

Speedo not working.

Hi again. I have sourced a new speedo drive for the transaxle. It is the part that can be replaced externally so that is the first option to try. Now, the pin I need to remove from the casing is steel and the casing is aluminum, so I suspect a bit of corrosion will make it stubborn to remove. I have...

Speedo not working.

Hi.
I have done the test with the drill on the sensor and the speedo works fine. so it has got to be the transaxle speedo drive.

Speedo not working.

Hi.
Thanks for your interest and replies. All three sensors I have do appear to have the gears intact as when I spin them by hand I can feel the resistance or the gear inside. I think it is time to call in the services of an auto electrician.

Richard.

Speedo not working.

Hi
Thanks for your replies.
The speedo drops to zero. The new sensor I got was not a genuine one . I have sourced a used original to try. If that does not work I think it must be a wiring issue.
I will keep plugging away

Rchard

My Puma (formally pictures at last)

Hi all. As some of you are aware I have started to stockpile spares for my Puma. The other day I managed to pick up a almost mint heated windscreen for £15 I thought that was a bit of a bargain. Does any one have useful tips on how to remove the original bonding sealant from the screen? Regards, Ric...

Hi,
Yes, I thought I would donate my spare engine just removed from my Puma, which is still very good to a deserving Puma to get it back on the road.
