Puma Thunder

Hmmm... I'm starting to think that I've actually priced this a bit low - people keep emailing and asking what is wrong with it! :? Oh well. As an update, I've added a bit of history to my ads on other sites: Main costs, as completed by Ford Dealership, are: May 2013/73017 miles - Service+Front Arms....

Puma Thunder

Haha! Such is the way of things. Hopefully it will appeal to someone here, hence the low price on the forum. It's bizarre, but I have to admit to getting a bit attached to my cars, and this one certainly has done that, so I'll be sad to let it go. Maybe it's to do with the memories and events we cre...

Puma Thunder

Well, here's something I never thought I'd be writing. Due to a change in work, I have to sell my Puma Thunder. Anyone who has read my posts will know how much it has had spent on it, with all repairs and servicing done by Ford themselves. It is pretty much as standard, with nothing modified - apart...

Wheel arches - again...

I'd be interested - but I also need the Inner Arches, too. I keep looking on the Expressed Steel Panels website to no avail... but they did say later in the year when I contacted them recently. Maybe they are still gauging interest, but I'd have hoped they were some way down the manufacturing route ...

That's pretty damned good. When my plastic screw-cover broke I tried to get one from Ford - £6!!! I re-stuck it back in with some sticky tape, and it's remained there to this day!

140mph in a Puma?

369306 I once had 135 mph indicated (private road cough*) bouncing off the limiter. probably more like 125 real speed though as speedos are not that accurate at higher speeds so I call BS on the 140mph lol. I did hit an indicated 125mph on that very same private road (Anglesey, wasn't it?) ve...

140mph in a Puma?

That's true, of course. Probably came from how fast the police had to go in order to catch the speeding Puma. Not unreasonable to have to do 140mph to catch a 120-125mph car. Doesn't, of course, mean the Puma was doing 140 though...

Ooooh... 'Ford collection'. 8-) As A Ford fan, that sounds very interesting. Can I ask what else you have?

On an aside, don't they sometimes have a bad reaction to each other, anyway? Galvanic corrosion?

I'm not entirely sure what these are...

Big MOT time

Well, yesterday was MOT day. Pass, no major issues. Slight bit of rust on one Rear Spring that will get replaced when I get the Rear Arch done as they are on the same side. Happy days indeed!

Rear arches

Hi and weclome. I've had the inner and outer rear arches on mine repaired - they actually refabricated the arches from steel rather than fitting ready-made panels. Two years after the repair the left-side began to go rusty again. My local chaps who repaired it initially had another look - and conclu...

Big MOT time

I have to say my Puma-maths kick in at times like this, Moonandback. When big bills arrive it seems quite reasonable to think "well, if I got rid of the car I'd only have to buy something else, and could be buying more trouble than what I've already got - and at least I know what I'm facing with the...

Sounds quite tastefully done. Is it still around? I was quite sad to find out my old KA (that I'd spent thousands on) was pretty much scrapped just a couple of years after I traded it for my Puma.

Pretentious Puma Promo Video

Haha! That's superb! The air-kiss is strange, considering the girl immediately reclines the seat right back as soon as she gets in - my older brother would have said that was deemed a very clear signal in the early 1970s! In a way, I suppose the old adverts try and sell the cars the same way a...

I'm in Altrincham. I think there may be a few from the north-west on here. Was your first Puma modified, or was the £5k just on general upkeep? I know they can be run quite cheaply, but having an expensive w ife-style means I'm used to blowing money unneccessarily, hence my own Puma bills! I'm...

Hmmm. Well, a year on from my original post and costings, the figures have of course changed again. Car serviced yesterday with Brake Fluid, Discs and Pads and a leaking Drive Shaft Seal replaced. Another £570 invoice into the Puma-file. Man-maths kicked in when I explained to Mrs.T66 that it's a ch...

A mention for the Puma as one of Ian Callum's best - and he's designed some genuine classics.

Pretentious Puma Promo Video

 Oh dear. Some marketing is... odd. And doesn't date well, at all. I bet many car ads from that time were similar, though. I actually love looking at old car advertisements - stuff like the Capri ones from the 70's were very macho and look bizarre now. I think the ad is crying our for a 2018 re...
