How to : Replace your Heater Control Valve (HCV)

Great! Particularly useful as the plastic outlet pipe has just sheared off. Fortunately was in a traffic jam right outside a garage. They were able to disconnect both hoses and connect them together using a piece of steel pipe Of the right diameter I just happened to have in the boot! Got me home a ...

Do I need a waxing!

Just been waxed! My guy cleaned everything underneath and says he then used a gallon of wax. Unlike Gimmickyflea my guy charged £80... But it saved me from trying to do it without a ramp in the cold and wet. Yes, it smelled a bit initially but this wore off after a few days and he told me it would l...

Aluminium Scuff Plates wanted

Have been trying to locate a pair of aluminium scuff plates for my Ford Puma for a coupe of months now but without success. PumaBuild have only one new one and one damaged one, PumaSpeed don't have any and can't track any down on Ebay or Google. Anyone have any ideas or a couple they don't want?

New Puma owner

Hi Dan Welcome from another Newbie. My girl is just like yours but a 2001 model with nine spoke aluminiums. One of the first things I did was get it up on a ramp and have a good look round underneath. Fortunately I had a pleasant surprise so just intend to have it wire brushed and wax oiled to keep ...

Do I need a waxing!

Hmm, don't know! Speaking to my local garage today they were saying they would recommend a wax spray which contains a rust inhibitor and seeps into all joints and cracks. I think that's what my respray guy had in mind.

Do I need a waxing!

Having taken my new cat to a local bodywork specialists who restores vintage and ageing sports cars we put it on the ramp and were pleasantly surprised at how good a condition it is underneath. He recommends giving it him for a couple of hours before winter to wire brush some parts and give the whol...

Just let the cat out of the cage!

Hi McBandy. A mere £750. Friends can't believe you can pick up such a nice car for such little money. Have also experienced the back parcel shelf syndrome (of dropping into the boot). Think I have solved it by tapping the rubber bits on a stick as far out as I can get them so they drop into the hole...

Just let the cat out of the cage!

Having test driven a 1.7 when they first came out I have lusted after one ever since but growing family, mortgage, practicalities and everything else got in the way. Now the kids have flown the nest, mortgage repaid and practicalities simplified three months of looking have finally paid off with a l...
