Paul's Silver Puma

Good progress 👍

What is the new brake setup like Vs the original, is the rear disc setup noticeable?

And what are the chances of a guide for doing the conversion with a parts list......😁

Puma 1.7 Rebuild Mk II

A fiesta 1.4 /1.6 tdi Mk5/6 is certainly not what most people would describe as a reliable car that would go the distance. You only need to have a quick read on some of the ford forums to see all the problems people have with them. It's not even a ford engine, it's PSA rubbish.

Puma 1.7 Rebuild Mk II

Hopefully you've done it, it's quite rewarding repairing faults on your own car. I would of thought you could do the door cards yourself too. There's always going to be things you need an expert for but why don't you see what you can do yourself? It might make you feel a bit more positive about the ...

Those wheels look familiar, good job.
Be nice to see you do the rear disc conversion when you get around to it

Don't give up mate,
Ive been reading your updates. You've had some bad luck. Maybe take a step back and have a break from it if you can?
Your nearly there, the light is at the end of the tunnel.

Puma 1.7 Rebuild Mk II

These parts are easily available and common across most of the ford ib5 box range, probably cost you less than £10 for the seal

An FRP engine in fiesta would be nice, really nice! But cost wise its not really justified. I paid £300 for my 2002 puma in average condition with a worn clutch and 10mths MOT, that's cheaper than most complete engines I've seen for sale, but i was able to hear it running beforehand and drive it away...

New to forum, fiesta mk5 zs owner

Thanks all, I wondered if i was going to get some stick on here for using a running puma as a donor, but it was a decent price and arches had started to go. Does seem a bit of a shame, but it was cheaper than buying an engine on its own. Glad to hear they go well after the conversion, I'm sure I'll ...

New to forum, fiesta mk5 zs owner

Hi, New to the forum, Ive had a mk5 fiesta zetec s for a few years now nearly. It was bought with the intention of modifying it so i have just bought a cheap 1.7 puma to use as a donor for an engine conversion. Ive heard this is the place to be for anything puma related, especially now as the zsoc f...
