window motor/regulator

Hi Barry,

Yes, was going to watch that but thought if I put the head of the bolt inside it wouldn't stick out anymore.
Not going to be a problem as I've ordered a Pop rivet gun and will do it as Mr Ford intended!

Peeling clear coat

My main aim was to try and seal the edges so it didn't get any worse....and then need a respray.

It's a bonus that the shine now matches the rest of the roof so is harder to spot!

Lots of thin coats is the key I reckon.

window motor/regulator

Finally got a passenger side window motor & regulator! I didn't want to take the old one out until I got another so took it out today. Tested the old motor with the battery & it ended up being Ok. It was the regulator wire which had come off the top pulley which had part of the side broken. Went to ...

Peeling clear coat

The kit was a halfords touch up one that I got from Ebay. It came with paint, clearcoat as well as a small sanding pad. I used it because it was very fine other wise I guess I should have used a minimum 1200 or 2000 grit- someone with more knowledge than me might be able to advise?. As I said the cl...

Peeling clear coat

I had a couple of small patches on the roof where the clear coat was peeling off - one pea sized and the other about 1cm by 2.5cm, They looked really unsightly but not worth paying for a roof respray- and the rest of the roof too good to risk me trying to rattle can it myself. So I thought what the ...

Hi Mike,

Yes, great little cars.

A lot more affordable than say an Escort (which are silly money these days) so a car you can have some fun with and not be scared to use it.

A lot more complicated to work on though - which is a shame when you're not a mechanic and can't weld!

Hi,

Looking for a passenger side complete window regulator/motor (to fit a 2001 1.7 Puma) if anyone has one in good working order?

Thanks,

Mark

1st Puma

Thanks Grogee, Yes, although looks sound, my underside could do with a good clean & paint!! Although I've heard it's not a s good as it used to be, I was planning on using Smoothrite on the rear beam etc. and some VHT paint on the brake drums & calipers. (part preventative and part to make look bett...

1st Puma

I really liked the Puma when they first came out (especially as Steve McQueen had one!) but only seriously really thought about getting one a few months ago. Lots of rusty wrecks out there but managed to find a half decent one last week - a green 1.7 in pretty good shape without too much rot. I've g...
