Re: Going to view a puma tomorrow with 32k on the clock

Just to update, I went to Lindsay Ford on Belfast's Boucher Road and they did a sterling job, no complaints at all though obviously the price was a bit higher as they are NI's main Ford dealer. Feel free to add these guys to the 'garages used' list. I dunno if you want to remove Ballylisk given that...

Re: Puma Pricing

I picked up a Puma 1.7 this week with 32k miles, full ford service history and 1 years MOT for £1400

Cambelt needs done so I'm doing that ASAP.

Hope that helps.

Re: Going to view a puma tomorrow with 32k on the clock

I've just discovered this: http://www.ford.co.uk/OwnerServices/VehicleServiceandRepair/Fixed-Pricing" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Lindsay Ford here in Northern Ireland are the main Ford dealer and the guys I wanted to bring the car to, but couldn't afford as their labour charges ar...

Re: Going to view a puma tomorrow with 32k on the clock

Yes mate, only one garage is listed for Northern Ireland in the list and it's the one that blew up my friends engine, though it is a Ford dealership it's a small one. I think I'll go with a different one, my local Ford dealership. Again, it's a small one but at least they are close by. I just need t...

Re: Going to view a puma tomorrow with 32k on the clock

I've got a problem (not with the car). I've been speaking to my friend and he used the garage I intend to use (Ford dealer - anout 55 miles away from me) for his 1.4 puma cambelt. When the mechanic took it out for a test drive, the head blew and shat the valves due to mechanic error. The car was off...

Re: Going to view a puma tomorrow with 32k on the clock

Hi again chaps, if all goes well the puma will go through MOT today and I will have it later. We know the timing belt hasn't been done so do you think I should be ok to drive it for a week or two until I can get it booked in? There is only 32k on the clock but the car is 11 years, so just don't want...

Re: Going to view a puma tomorrow with 32k on the clock

they are charging me 165 labour + vat so the rest must be parts.

gonna have to sell a guitar to help pay for it but should be worth it for the piece of mind.

Re: Going to view a puma tomorrow with 32k on the clock

My local ford garage quoted me 480 inc vat for timing belt kit, aux belt, rocker gasket thingy and water pump. All ford parts, does that sound about right?

My wife is a bit miffed about the extra money but this should do me 5 years, do you think?

All advice welcome!

Here you go: http://www.usedcarsni.com/100893200" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Offered it for £1300 as it sits or £1400 with him putting it through MOT. Wife is pregnant and I don't need the hassle so £1400 is good. Not much rust on her, a little bit on the usual places but I've see...

Re: Going to view a puma tomorrow with 32k on the clock

Well if its relatively rust free I will be amazed lol I think if a puma was kept sealed in a vacuum since purchase it would still rust ;) Price does seem good but what dealer expects to get what they are asking? If I decide I want it I will certainly haggle :) My 30k miles Puma is rust free but has...

Going to view a puma tomorrow with 32k on the clock

Hi folks, long time no see. I havent been on for a few years for reasons I wont go into. I lost my lovely Puma millennium which I adored, it was my second puma and I loved that car. I havent owned a puma for 3 years but fate has meant that I am on the lookout, though funds are limited. I went to see...

Radiator and water cooling question?

Morning :) Does the big fan at the front of the car at the radiator always run when the engine is running? How warm does the water coolant get after a long drive? I noticed that the cool air coming into the car was actually quite warm and when I checked the water it was also pretty hot. I switched t...

Have to agree with Bok. Powerwashing your engine is never good. Instead, get your toothbrush out and some mild soapy water and set aside 6 hours or so.
