Loss of acceleration and popping sound!

Does the sound happen when stationary? If so try to get someone else to push down on the air box then you will know if it is a bad seal.

If so try and get a slightly bigger screw (width) to hold the leaky box down!

MOT fail...advice please

Not really, look on eBay and you will see maybe £100 parts and £60 labour I would imagine.

Not sure swivel pins are. But the above cost includes both sides as this would be best practice. Also set aside £30 for wheel alignment afterwards.

Not sure but I'd think a new engine would be in order? £400 for a good one, make sure you get the electronics loom too. Someone with better knowledge than me able to help!

If you ask Halrford to do a free battery check they also do the coil pack.
Try cleaning ICV too.

Ok - what did I miss?!!!

After spending £3700 I would expect some sort of project roadmap, realistic timescales and better communications rather than 'it'll be done when it's done', even if you were saving money!

Nothing I saw warranted the reaction got, so don't be too anxious about it! :ok:

Your high expenditure has been diagnosed as the Puma bug! Highly contagious and hard to get rid of! I have been lucky in this sense as my bills have always been a few £100's per year but similar probs as yours (and others :o ) so spread out the cost. BTW this forum and the wise people posting...

You seem very knowledgeable about this stuff so I will ask you (and others!) about cylinder wear and tear:- If modern cars (e.g. the new Fiesta 2018) can disable on the fly certain cylinders then surely this will abnormally and quickly wear down these cylinders, ultimately rendering the engine usele...

Drivers damaged headlight part

Hmmm, sounds like you could fix it without another headlight! Assuming with another headlight with the part that attaches to the wing (let us call it a strap), then with the a new strap you have to somehow mount this onto your current headlight. How would you do this? A metal brace and low profile b...

Fuel Locking Cap Stuck

You need to put the key in and out, by letting it soak the rust just stays in place. Hopefully the dirt will stay on the key and you remove it that way. I doubt it would be a pressure difference, it would be designed so as not to seal if the cap is rotated and hence a few cubic centimeters in...

Fuel Locking Cap Stuck

Hmm not sure, someone will help, BUT try a bit of WD40 in the lock mechanism itself. Keep repeating putting in the key (do not turn) and wiping off rust/dirt that comes of on the key. Even try spraying the key end and inserting it, then in and out. Then after a while try gentle turns, not so to open...
