Hi Steve, what's the Internal diameter of the centre pipe where it joins to the manifold?

Re: Fuel light comes on for a short time, after engine start

When my puma was sat for a while and the battery was almost flat. There was just enough juice in it to start it. Once it had all the warning lights lit up for a few seconds and went out again. Personally I think because the starter was using what wad left in the battery to start the engine so the da...

Re: Fuel light comes on for a short time, after engine start

I'm my experience, dash lights tend to do that when the battery is on its way out.
Does it do it after long journeys as well?

Re: Lester front fogs in lower grill

Not a lot of progress I'm afraid.

I'm confident I have fabricated a good bracket for the light assembly to sit on.
However, I'm struggling to get a bezel I'm happy with.
Might even have to get some made, but it's where and at what cost

Re: Heating has a mind of its own

Make sure you've got all the air out the system. Remove the radiator cap and run the engine at idling speed with the heater on full heat on position 2 on the blower. Squeeze the pipes to make sure all the air has been removed. You should be OK once the heater starts blowing hot then just tighten the...

Re: Am I missing something here?

That's if you pay someone else to do the work for you. I'm sure the majority of people would buy their own car and mod it up themselves for significantly less. Resprays aren't always required and it doesn't cost anything to strip the interior etc. Sorry if I appear ignorant but I honestly can't just...

Re: Am I missing something here?

But you have to step back and think, who's prepared to pay that for a puma track car when you can get a very clean FRP for that, less in some cases.

Personally I'd rather have an FRP.

Am I missing something here?

Just spotted this on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Puma-1-7-Dunlop-Cup-Race-Car-/262121124018?hash=item3d07a2f0b2:g:A4cAAOSwhcJWNQKl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I couldn't help but wonder what made it worth asking £5500 for so I had a look.. Re: advice needed

I agree with what the others have said.. However, even though it has high mileage, it could also be a decent motor providing the major stuff has been done, clutch, timing belt etc. For example, mine is a 51 reg with 100k. I've done the timing belt, clutch, wishbones, top mounts, rear bushes, new bra...

Re: Lester front fogs in lower grill

I like these lights, I think they really suit the Puma and they're a nice little upgrade. I'm sure I have a set of these somewhere but for the life of me I've no idea where they are. They could even be in my mums garage but it would take me a month to find them  I'm going to have a crack at fab...

Re: BOILING COOLANT

The heating system in the mk4/5 fiesta and Puma are almost identical. My old Puma had the same symptoms as yours, but my coolant wasn't bubbling, it was just getting hotter than usual and the temperature gauge went into the red even on fairly short journeys. I changed my heater valve and problem sol...

But make sure the mountings are the same as the puma before you buy one as the design changed slightly on the later zetec engines.

Racing Puma rear door cards

Could do with a pair of rear door cards from a racing puma.
They don't have to be in an immaculate condition as the front ones I have aren't fantastic.
I'll even consider tatty ones.
Must be willing to post unless you're local.

What have you got?

Cheers

I think what he was getting at was more the point that nobody said 'thanks' to him about making us aware of the car coming up for sale.

They are grateful although it may not appear that way..

But on the same note, there was no need to throw a paddy.

Ford Puma security/theft prevention

Firstly, if this is in the wrong section, do feel free to move it :-) As many of you are aware, the Ford Puma is knocking on a bit and unfortunately, so it the security system technology. Nobody wants their car stolen, I personally would be devastated if my car went walk about. I realise that the ma...

Since I purchased my car, I've been trying to get hold of previous owners to see if they still had any invoices etc.. Or even a story to tell  But so far my searches haven't produced anything. I suspect the arches have had the usual 'bodge to sell' repair.

Good luck getting that for it anyway
