My Puma.. Maximum Track Attack!!

More progress on the car this week, the cage is now in and being welded into the car. Once I get it back and start to measure up for where I'l need to trim the dash to get everything back in. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1877/29819259887_fc5f65b88b_h.jpg Untitled by Jay Hardy , on Flickr https://f...

Some minor progress made over the weekend, while the dashboard was out I thought it only right to reduce the weight of it so I removed the metal frame. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1846/44448298611_9ec9801637_k.jpg Untitled by Jay Hardy , on Flickr https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1863/44448298491_0...

My Puma.. Maximum Track Attack!!

Took the day off work yesterday and after a morning out with the wife walking the dog and a pub lunch I managed to spend a bit more time working on the car. First job was fill the brake lines with fluid and bleed the system up as well as check for any leaks. All went smoothly and all leaks cured jus...

Looking good on track and I bet the additional mods have really helped.

Which of the whiteline ARB's are you using? The MK6 Fiesta one? I know they have just changed the design on it, have you got he old or new style?

Oh.. and have you got a pic of the single wiper linkage conversion.

Brake lines are fine, not pulled tight and the suspension is at a full extension in the pictures, once compressed and on the ground it wont cause any issues. Just have one more pipe to make up and then thats the brake lines all done, will attempt to get them bled up and check for any leaks this week...

So a few pics of the progress on the braking system.... now before anyone starts I admit it certainly isn't the neatest of jobs. I have admittedly rushed it a little bit but, its functional and it will work as intended. I may remake some of the pipes and tidy it up a little bit but for now it'll do ...

Agreed to be honest, it does surprise me no one ever checks those sort of things on a track day.... I did one recently where no one even checked to see if if anyone had a driving license!! HANS and new harness will be on the shopping list once the cage is installed, for now I'm working through the b...

So all bar 2 of the items I need to re route the brake pipes have now arrived and I can get cracking with the job this weekend. Oval/rectangular silencers boxes are significantly quieter than round silencers. If it's packed with wadding it should be ok , (think about Westfields & Caterham 7's)
Yeah the biggest issue is making sure it would fit nicely underneath the car.

Re: My Puma.. Maximum Track Attack!!

I have thought about going to a side exit but I'd need it to still maintain a low enough db level to avoid be black flagged on track days, the current one I have peaks at around 94db on a static test which is fine for pretty much all uk tracks. I might email my exhaust guy and see what he can come u...

369398 That's really surprising it felt better on the 17's, thought I read it wrong first time round. Did you keep the front spacers in? Only prob with 17's is they definitely look too big for the size of the car but if is felt better that's more important obviously. Well it didn't feel any worse t...

So.... another track day done and what a day it was. Was the first time ive done a track day on anything that 15" wheels and I was slightly worried about how it would feel on 17's. I also had to roll the front arches to allow the bigger wheels and tyres to fit and to stop them rubbing. The car felt ...

Starting to make some progress to get the car ready for its next track outing at Blyton Park on June 4th. I picked up on a few issues last time out at Rockingham. The biggest change is also a visual on. I've moved away from the 15" OZ Superleggera's and now gone to a 17" Pro Track One wheel tyre, ag...
