My Puma.. Maximum Track Attack!!

I wouldn't say the track is intimidating, its just a road at the end of the day. I just take it one corner at a time and build up the speed with each lap, using a bit more curb each time. Woodcote and Copse were he tricky ones, the front was just wanted to wash out wide. I've now driven all of Silve...

My Puma.. Maximum Track Attack!!

Went to Trax last weekend and did a session in at lunch time. Weather was pretty poor all day but it did dry about an hour before my session and the drifters had been out for a bit before which helped to dry the track a little bit.... It did start to drizzle as I lined up ready to go out which made ...

Need track advice (please)!

That looks quite a complex track with some pretty quick sections. In terms of readying your car for the day I would get it up on axle stands and give all the suspensions bushes a quick once over, if there they appear to be badly perished then replace them with some powerflex or similar, same goes fo...

Nice to see the RST vents being used over the Focus RS ones everyone seems to be fitting at the moment. Bonnet looks uber shiney as well. I may have to see about doing mine as its started fading quite a bit.

I'd of thought you'd of gone with powerflex bushes in the wishbones to help tighten the handling up a bit more.

Manifold looks a nice bit of kit.

364931 Nice write up Jay. Good to hear that the car performed well! Thanks, it was going well, a few areas I and the car can still improve in, I need to get on top of the tyre pressures and what works best in different conditions. I never really played about with them much so its a learning process...

Hit the track again yesterday at Blyton Park on the Easter Circuit. Having never driven it before and going off what I've heard I wasnt really expecting much but, the track provided a nice challenge. Its starts very tight, narrow and twisty but opens up to be much faster and flowing around the back ...

My Puma.. Maximum Track Attack!!

Did a small amount of prep today to get the car ready for Blyton Park tomorrow. Nothing to major just something that should cure one issue and another to make it easier to time my sessions. First one... adjustable pressure reg fitted and set to 2.7 bar which is the standard pressure of the Racing Pu...

I imagine you had to have a brave pill before cutting into that bonnet. Vents are something I've considered but I dunno if I can bring myself to chop into my carbon bonnet :-(

Sounds good, I was trying to decide whether to go with a fuel cell in the boot or stick with the standard tank and run a system similair/same as what you are planning.

So this weekend could potentially be a big one....Its been about 9 weeks since I moved house and the Puma has been stored at my parents house during this time. I'm going to attempt to clear the garage and make some space to bring the car home, time to introduce the neighborhood to a track car!

My Puma.. Maximum Track Attack!!

Prepping for the next track day on bank holiday Monday at Blyton Park has begun. I think I've cured the long running over fueling issue, fitted the adjustable pressure reg last week and the car seems all the better for it. The old standard reg also looked a bit beyond its best. I still have lots of ...

As above.... The place I would start to be honest is a full service then take a good look at the suspension, chances are the bushes will be pretty worn. If your on a budget these will be a good starting point (a little cheaper that powerflex) https://floflex.co.uk/?year_id=371&make=415&model=423&s=&...

Best option that requires minimal effort is a 300mm kit, uses a mk3 mondeo caliper and focus st170 disc. All you need to do to allow it to fit is drill the holes out on the hub to 13mm to allow for the larger mounting bolt. On a standard (ish) Puma they make the world of difference. I've had the set...
