What could this be?

Thanks for the reply.

Even though the oil we see in these pics is black I believe the leak is coming from the gearbox.

Do you reckon cleaning this area would making it easier to spot the origin of the leak?

how to remove a fender

Finished the job. There's no need to take the whell off or the inner guard (just two bolts). The rest is as Barry described. Not a difficult job. I had 3 small cracks on the bottle...used some silicone glue but I'm not sure it will hold. MIght have to get a new one. Thanks everyone for the tips!

how to remove a fender

Hi. Today I found a massive puddle of water on the floor and after a little snooping around I found out I have a small crack on the washer bottle. It drips incessantly. My problem is to fix the bleeding thing. I suppose I'll have to remove the fender, so i can access it, right? But how do I take the...

Many thanks for the tip mate. I've already spotted the seller on ebay. I take it the size of these boots isn't to different from Ford ones?

cv boots

Normally woudn't post here to ask for advice if it wasn't an emergency: need to take the Puma to the MOT and problems keep piling up. Just found a massive grease "poo" sitting on top of the right side wishbone. CV boot is obviously knackered. Do I need original Fords or will ebay cheapos do the tric...

Coolant leak!

Right, just finished looking at the possible culprits and it does not appear to be the water pump...everything around the area looked dry as a bone. I did notice that one of the pulleys is shagged (the alternator belt tensioner). Loads of trepidation and it's moist. Could this pulley be causing the ...

Coolant leak!

When I get home from work I'll have a thorough look at the water pump. Chaps, is there any brand of water pumps, besides the original, that can do the job well? I'm asking because there's plenty of them on Ebay which are only a fraction of the price local Ford is asking for it. I suspect most are sh...

Water pump was replaced about 15000 kilometers ago. It's a non-Ford part (think it's Dayco)

Coolant leak!

Thanks for the input Skippy. I just finished having another look around and it appears the leak is not coming from the thermostat housing (it's completly dry). It appears to be coming from one of the bolts that attaches the crankshaft pulley to the engine. It's seems to be dripping onto the sump and...

If it's really a knackered housing, do I need to buy a new one or will a seal replacement suffice?

Coolant leak!

Thanks for the quick reply Barry. I do have another leak exactly where you said. It's an old one; about a year ago I bought a new albeit cheap pair of hoses but they are crap and can't handle the pressure between the HCV valve and the engine. Thing is though: that leak is on the right side of the ca...

Coolant leak!

HI. Just noticed a small puddle of coolant under the car. It's on the left side of the engine and I can't seem to find the origin because I'm unable to use the jack to lift the car. I felt around and noticed the back side of the sump and some of the bolts in that area are wet. Tried to look at the t...

Re: Crash sensor

Is yours a digital dash model? If so you can do a bulb check on it by holding in the trip reset whilst turning the ignition on. Yes. It's a digital clock. I did just that. The airbag light did not come on. But then again neither did the ABS or Traction control and those work normally when I start t...

Is the light not coming on at all? If so, I had the same problem a little while ago. In the end I figured out it was th cluster. Swapped it for a spare one and it fixed it Yep. Light is as dead as a doorknob. I've changed the airbags, one pretensioner and the module (car was in an accident) but so ...

Crash sensor

I'm desperately trying to figure out why the airbag light in my car doesn't work. I've been told that I might have to change the crash sensor but I can't find the bloody thing. Anyone knows where it is located and would it be a likely culprit for the airbag light to not light up?

Thanks

Re: Headlamp leveler

Sadly, I can't hear no sound coming from that headlamp so I think the motor is knackered. I'll try to resolder some of the joints...If that doesn't work I'll have to buy a new motor. Anyone knows the serial number?
