Is the tensioner the hardest bit of the job insitu & how hard is it & could u dispense Wi a waterpump change if that also adds more hrs to the job if trying to have a crack at it myself? Don't suppose access is any good does it go around an engine mount or anything any tips for making it easier...

Yeah where is the tension er on the 1700 is it visually inspectable at all & what would u b able to tell a knackered one at all & is there anyway u could protect these things against the elements I can't imagine oil immersion in the pumas doing em much good!!

Waterpump that is to put u in the pic minesnow got 150k on it not had one before but still seems to pull quite well luvly fresh oil in it when got it but not tarted up for sale & doesnt use any cambelt has obviously been done & according to previous owner was done after 100k bout 4 yrs ago...

Oh rite so when u do get it done its not worth having anything but a full kit & waterproof I assume , is that visible at all & any telltale signs of impending doom on these engines?
