    Clutch for track (eventual race) car

    I use the reinforced one from Helix for about 8 years now. This car is used only on track. I ' ve got a spare one but never have to use it :wink: I think it 's all about the driver and how he drives!

    Was just thinking....

    My trackday Puma stops with the front 4pods brakes from a Sierra Cosworth MK1 2wd. At the rear still the original drumbrakes. Perfect, the lightweight Puma stops unbelievable good. Original flat disc and Ferrodo DS3000 pads, no one stops later :wink: I can almost make a stoppy :lol:

    Downgrading to 1.6 question???

    The zetec engineblocks 1.7 and 1.6 are the same. Only the 1.7 is aluminum and less weight. It 's possible to bolt the 1.6 cranckshaft into the 1.7 and than you have a 1.6 engine. The cilinderhead is the same, only the camshafts not. You can replace them as well. I know someone who build such...

    Cheap Track Car - FOUND :-)

    Cheap and track car is not realy possible i think. At one point you you have to get more power, more stability, more stoppingpower, new brakediscs and pads, new tyres, new tyres, new tyres ... And there goes the cheap part :wink: If you can build it yourself, you can lower the running costs...
