Oh!!! I'll make sure I get a good brand gasket kit when I order it up to get the right headbolts.
Also need new camshaft cap bolt as I rounded one off somehow - can you still get them from ford?
Hi all what size Allen key socket do you need for the headbolts on 1.7?
My Allen key set doesn't go big enough to work out what socket I need to buy :?
Do bear in mind engines weigh different weights! I fitted a gold Gti engine in my mk2 fiesta but was stupidly heavy and weighed it down to far! Much happier with the puma lump
What ever the engine just buy the rest of the car around it? That way you get everything you need to fit the new engine. Ecu, complete wiring loom, clocks for that loom which normally hold things back (as explained above about the CANBUS)
Then you only really need to wire in lights to that loom...
As above and also the puma is considered a short shift , I know a lot of people upgrading to puma gear linkage in mk2 fiestas as a cheaper alternative to the short shift kits
Oil pressure you will need a t piece and just come off the standard location and refit the standard one and the new pressure vessel for the gauge
Oil temp I brought a sump nut which was threaded and fitted the temp sensor into it then just ran the wire back to gauge all works well
I don't have a cat on mine it's a modified standard manifold. I would happily rebuild the whole engine but it seems bottom end equipment is hard to get hold of so will focus my attention to the head and air to and from it
Newman fast road cam is what I'm looking at, will I still retain vct with...
Also is it worth it??
Done a bit of reading some people say you will need a remap others don't! Some say keep the vct with the new cams and others don't.
I'm a bit lost now and just think I'll sort out flowing the head and inlet side, plus sort out the stainless manifold to match the stainless...
Hi all looking at upgrading cams for the puma engine, what cams can I fit that retain vct?
Currently looking at Newman cams,
Will I need to do a remap?
Will be flowing maf and tb, and as much as I can of the inlet
