A goodbye before I got started!

Awesome :) Can't make it on Saturday, but I'll be keeping an eye on the forum to see when the next meet is!

A goodbye before I got started!

Thanks guys :) It's simply phenomenal to drive. I'd love to stick around though as you all seem brilliant - I could even come to the next meet if I'd be allowed lol!

A goodbye before I got started!

Hey guys, I've been on this forum on and off for a few years, looking to get my Puma. I had a huge list going and a lot of plans and ambitions for the car - but sadly I won't be getting the puma that I wanted. Reason being is that I've just bought a Toyota Celica VVTi 140bhp for an offer that...

    Blue Dials - Thoughts?

You might have to count me out though sorry guys, not even got the car yet! LOL. Getting it in 2 weeks and it's not the first thing on my 'to-do' list sorry! I will do it this year though :3

    Interior light change....

Haha, I mean not to offend! I do like the chrome rings, my dad has them standard in his VW passat, and they look great :)

    Interior light change....

I completely agree - I'd rather something more subtle. I love the VW interiors with the red and dark blue, but the bright blue LED's don't do much for me. I like the fact that you've got a white light on the dash. Always wondered what that would look like on black dials with chrome rings...

    Blue Dials - Thoughts?

The problem is that they have to make the MPH ones as one-offs, they don't have any in stock. There are MPH ones on eBay but no where near as nice as these ones. I can definitely look into it though :)

    Interior light change....

Well that's basically what I'd want to do soon. To turn this: into this... Some photoshops I did. Indiglo dials, FRP interior, red & blue LED's for the console and instrument lights. I'm going to look into it - I heard it's not that hard to do, so when I find out I'll let you know!

So you'd just wire the 12v LED's into the positive and negative circuit of the illumination bulb circuit? Sounds pretty easy!

    Blue Dials - Thoughts?

Hmm, the needles would be easy to fit but I'm worried about placing LED's in there - what with the correct resistors, where they'd be wired into, etc. Not sure how easy that would be?

    Blue Dials - Thoughts?

With Intelliglow needles: I've got a pretty good Photoshop project file going on here. I've had it so I can have any colour face, dash light, console lights, trim, etc. Nice and flexible if you're thinking of changing interiors! :D

    Blue Dials - Thoughts?

Basically, you'd need indiglo dials for the faces, with an intelliglow needle kit to make this work realistically. I'll be giving this a go :)

    Blue Dials - Thoughts?

Nah, they do gauge illumination too - so those photos show everything all at once. That's someone's car showing the red ones.

    Blue Dials - Thoughts?

I'VE GOT IT! THIS link here contains something called "Intelliglow Needle Kits". They'll give you a kit that can illuminate your needles. Your needles will need to be transparent (but you can get these off a Mondeo). The kit just consists of small circular patches that light up brightly in the...

    Blue Dials - Thoughts?

You mean like these? ;) The way to do it would be to have transparent needles, and some sort of LED in them - but I can't imagine how hard that would be? Or if you could take the illuminated needles off another car like you said, and wire them in somehow... I'll have to look into this for...

    Blue Dials - Thoughts?

THIS is the company that do those plasma dials. They do some for the analogue odometer version too. They're in KPH, but I've contacted them and they will remake them in MPH as a one-off - but expect it to be more expensive! But IMO, if we can get the needles to somehow illuminate, it would be...

    Blue Dials - Thoughts?

The ONLY problem with plasma (indiglo) dials is the needle illumination. The needles would be completely black! If there was a way to make them illuminated, then we're on to a winner :D
  20. audio84

    Blue Dials - Thoughts?

Well I'm going to change the LED's in mine, and the plasma dials you can just buy online. As soon as I find out how, I'm happy to work on this with you :ok: Oh and for everyone to easily compare, here's a standard (ish) puma interior:
