    how light is your puma

Only problem with this Warren is if you are in any sort of race series, or your puma becomes a race car at a later date, the scrutineers can be very picky about internal skins being cut and removed

    how light is your puma

Our race puma is now 880kg with all steel panels allbeit chopped a little lol Still has a glass rear window and half a dash I would say 840 with fibreglass panels it just depends how far you go, if you can get fibreglass doors and a carbon roof you would be 820's id say :)

    My frp and big plans

Yer its awesome fun to drive, we use federal fz201 tyres so its on rails :) The front windows are perspex and the seat is a fancy wrap around one, ill get some interior pics up. I need to start a build thread for it as it started out as a black £200 mot failure lol Were not allowed to use the...

    My frp and big plans

Well its a race car with a tuned road engine and my road car has a race engine in lol a little bit backward but were limited to power to weight in the race car so its only around 175bhp :)

Yes we will no doubt catch each other :) I look forward to your updates

2.1 Zetec Turbo - The Yella' Fella' (Videos and Dyno pg7)

A 30/71 would be my choice of turbo for your engine, and you wouldn't have to run stupid boost levels. It would make it more drivable and less transient lag through gear changes. Sounds like you have it pretty much worked out, good luck with the whole project.

Thanks again :) Thats right, plus as well as racing a puma theres little time for your road car lol

2.1 Zetec Turbo - The Yella' Fella' (Videos and Dyno pg7)

In my opinion your turbo choice is too big for a responsive 440bhp, on a well specced yb engine a 30/76 will make 550bhp, this is why i suggested a smaller more responsive turbo, that would possibly gain you 500rpm down the bottom. The zetec engine isnt the most efficient engine so it always...

    My frp and big plans

Thanks a lot mate, i am 100% happy with how the engine turned out, I've said all along it could have been stupid powerful but i have a saph cossie for that, i wanted a crazy atmo engine and thats exactly what it is :) I drive powerful turbo cars regular so can understand you guys wanting that...

2.1 Zetec Turbo - The Yella' Fella' (Videos and Dyno pg7)

I thought there were billet gears available for the oil pump but i may be wrong, we have just dynoed a zetec turbo that gave 510bhp and that used an external oil pump which is a very good option rather then going dry sumped. I understand your want for peak figures but you would be pushing the...

2.1 Zetec Turbo - The Yella' Fella' (Videos and Dyno pg7)

Hello mate, your build will be loads of fun i hope you don't have any major issues with it :) Couple of little questions, what are you doing for oil pump as with the power im guessing your looking for its almost inevitable to break/shatter taking the engine with it? Also ive now seen a couple...

    Billet/alluminium oil filler cap

Hi guys, does anyone know of an oil filler cap that you tighten yourself rather then until it clicks? If it was a fancy billet item that would be a bonus :) Ryan

418 is of to get the new engine

I have not changed the gears in mine its just geared way too high for the revs now so i am either getting a shorter final drive ratio or a quaife straight cut gear kit, thats if i can put up with the whine in my road car. My frp feels perfectly safe at 150 :)

    My frp and big plans

Ive just been enjoying the car lately and now the wheels are refurbished with new stickers and ultralite wheel nuts i think the car looks really well to :) but i have got lots of stuff to do on the car. Rev counter-10k- acquired Oil temp and pressure gauges- acquired Little bit of wiring...

418 is of to get the new engine

No worries, its a semi race engine but its in my road car as i dont do many miles or track days.

418 is of to get the new engine

Not a typo you have read it wrong lol it has over 200bhp for a 3000rpm window, from 6800 to 9800 The engine in mine is around the 10k mark

418 is of to get the new engine

Thats the trouble with normally aspirated engines, mine held 220bhp till 10,000rpm but unless you go crazy with inlet and exhaust manifolds you wont get a puma engine to peak there and if you did it would have a small powerband. Im so happy with how mine pulls, it makes over 200bhp for 3000rpm...

418 is of to get the new engine

Even so Paul, i remember you originally planned to have the engine at the same power as mine. The only way to get power out of these small engines is to rev them so hopefully you will eventually get the figures you were after. Make sure you post pictures of the cars and the graphs :)
