ROAD LEGAL TRACK PREPARED 2001 1.7 FOR SALE
Selling my 2001 1.7 which has only done 62000 miles and was my winter project. I have been using it for Sprints and Hillclimbs and it goes brilliantly and handles like a dream. Great fun from this really willing and solid engine.

When I got the car there was the beginnings of rust on the rear wheel arches. As it was to be a track car I didn't worry about the cosmetics - just rubbed the rust down, treated with Kurust and a bit of filler then rattle can spray job on top. The rust was not bad at all and if you want a really nice job then the arches could easily be sorted out by someone who knows what they are doing.

There is slight lacquer peel on 1 front wing but again an easy fix and not too unsightly as it is.

There is one scrape on the front Offside bumper from last weekend at Doune hillclimb where I made contact with a barrier - purely cosmetic. Other than that the car has the expected age related small scrapes and marks but it still looks really good.

I have stripped out the carpets and sound deadening but left the rest of the interior intact for Road Car class in the sprints. It has a 4 point harness and bucket seat for the driver. the passenger side still has the original Puma seat and belt. The back seat is still fitted.

I have put on the following:
New Sachs Clutch and slave cylinder
Braided Brake Hoses
New Discs and Pads - Front
New Shoes and 1 wheel cylinder - rear
New wishbones - Front
Gaz Coilovers - Custom Set up for the car with adjustable hieght all round and variable damping on rear. Gaz Gold Internals for added strength and performance on the fronts / GHA at the rear
Suede covered race steering wheel (airbag removed)
New Plugs and uprated race spec HT Leads (10mm)
Cam belt changed in August last year
Full service August last year - Shell Helix Fully Synthetic oil
Dot 4 Brake Fluid
RAMAIR - Air Induction kit
Custom Stainless Steel Exhaust - May this year. Not an off the shelf but actually built for the car by specialist custom exhaust builder. Sounds great but not ear splitting or intrusive when driving.
Race Decals - all removeable - White Door Circles / Tow point arrows / ignition markings
Second set of Race Wheels with Federal 535 RSR Road Legal Race Tyres (List 1B) Used for 5 events and in excellent condition with loads of life left. These wheels are 7J and sit slightly further out than standard so widening the track and making handling feel really positive.

I have the original interior if anybody wanted to return it to a road car including driver seat, steering wheel, airbag, carpets and plastic trims.

The car is fully road legal and it is taxed until end of September and MOT until March 2015 so it is ready to be taken out on track or raced at hillclimbs / sprints of which there are many around the country.

I have had a blast with this car and it is a perfect entry point into motorsport or track driving. It feels absolutely solid and well sorted. The engine is really eager and runs faultlessly. On top of that it is really quick.

I reckon I have spent in excess of £2000 on the car and all the work / additions to get it to where it is now.

I am looking for £1700 ONO

Now looking to sell soon so - happy to consider offers. I have the full interior which will come with the car so you can return it to a standard road car very easily.
Runs brilliantly and was within a second of the time taken by a Renault Clio Cup with 172HP today. This is a very reliable and fun track car with lots of potential
Don'thesitate to contact me if you want any more info

END of SEASON BARGAIN- THIS CAR NEEDS TO SELL SOON
Now looking to sell the car to finance another winter project so I am open to any reasonable offer for the Puma. She runs well, totally reliable and needs nothing done before next season on the track. If you want to tinker with a car and take her to the next level then its a truly solid platform to build on.

I have had a great first season in hillclimb / sprint racing with her and came 4th in the Lowland Championships with no previous experience of motor sport. So a really good introductory car as she is or could be made even faster and more competitive with a small amount spending on her.

I have a Ford Racing Puma Exhaust Manifold ready to be fitted and can be included in the sale. A set of race wheels and tyres which still have around 50% of their tread left so no money needs spending if you don't want to - you can go straight out on track.

If you want a great every day car - cheap, fun and reliable then I am happy to change the dampers back to original and keep the Gaz coilovers which I would sell separately. I have the full interior which would go back into the car to return her to a standard every day run about.

The car is far to good to break even though I may get more for her in parts so I would prefer that someone else had the fun of running her and keeping another Puma on the road! However if there are no takers then that is unfortunately what I will need to do.

Please give me a call if you are looking for a good, minimal rust, low mileage, reliable puma I am happy to discuss offers so don't worry about sounding cheeky!

PM me to discuss

All the best

Colin
