I've been meaning to change the lighting on my FRP ever since I bought it. Never understood why Ford kept the dials all green on a mostly blue car?! :? Anyways, I've recently come across something called "Indiglow", which practically changes the entire dashboard to a much more colour co-ordinated "Ford Racing" red and blue. One of my troubles is finding places who sell them. Are there many?

My other problem is it seems, even with them fitted the odometer still glows green. Is there anyone with any tips as to what sort of LED to use to get the odometer glowing blue as well?

i have indiglows and once you fit them you wont need the odemeter bulb in there at all as the indiglows do the trick for you so just remove the bulb.

Great stuff! There can never be too much blue on an FRP! 8) Hell of a lot of f***in' around for something those bright sparks at Ford should've done in the first place though. I mean, if they're going to make a true blue SE Ford in blue then they should've at least thought about changing the lighting to blue as well! It just doesn't look right with all those green controls. Looks like something I'm going to have to try myself though, 'cause it'd cost me an arm and a leg to get it done through a garage!

I'm pleased they spent the money on mechanical upgrades TBH on the FRP.

They run out of money of the conversion process, and made cut backs on cosmetic bits, like blending in rear arches on the sills

I agree there, but surely changing the bulbs and a bit of plastic on the odometer wouldn't have broken the bank? How much are blue LEDs compared to green? Same with blue and green bits of plastic? :?

Its more the fact the cars came to tickford as standard 1.7 cars, which then need parts stripping off, and the FRP bits putting back on, so the labour to strip out all the LEDs, and change to blue would've been loads, as no FRP conversion was done during first build.

You can get blue switches from ebay.

Ahh, I seee. Pity they didn't ask Ford of Germany to do the minor mods at the plant. Would've had far more satisfying aesthetic results if they had.

I didn't realise there were modified switches available on the Net?! A link would be most helpful if you have one? :)

Avoid a KIT tho :)

 Some mega stuff there! 8) Why no kits? I guess they're only for pros, uh? And what about that Escort dash? Looks just like mine. Would that fit?

guess, the kits fine, if you fancy soldering things, having seen the switches stripped apart, some of the bits are tiny, then you need to experperment with resisters as well.

No idea if a escort dash will fit, as far as I know only the fiesta Mk 4/5 shares the dials and switches with the puma

dont do the mk4/5 dash into a puma it doesnt fit iv tried it. i say it doesnt fit but it does actually go in and bolt in ok but your left with a big gap between the rear of the dash and the windscreen cause it doesnt have the extention on it that the puma dash has on it.
