Well that's good to know - cheers all.

Expensive in every way aren't they!

Well you don't get extra power and exclusivity for nothing! If you can afford to run it then try to enjoy it :)

lol - not complaining, I'm loving my FRP!

I'm being so careful driving her at the minute.

hav you checked the condition of the belt and to see if its the original ford one? Apparntly the original ones had four thick arrows on them

I'll look in a min ;)

Booked into Pumabuild tomorrow for the cambelt change.

How much for a cambelt change at PB these days Neil?

£240 not including labour.

Then again, I've got my RPOC discount, which should save.... a tenner maybe? lol

your joking.

Mine was 230 all in.

If they are charging that mate, id cancel it and go topgear automotive. They would do a better job anyways

Just been trying to ring them for the last hour - no response :(

Its not a big garage and its just 2 guys. So if they are really busy it is hard to get through.

Too busy to deal with customers obviously :pinkeye:

I wonder what Neil did in the end?...personally I wouldn't leave a cambelt any longer than is necessary and I cenrtainly wouldn't wait hand and foot for a garage to deal with me when I'm paying them.
Tha garage I deal with is also a small garage and I have NEVER had a call not answered, and usually within a few rings and I can always speak to the same mechanic. They are very busy too but have their priorities in the right order.

Sorry if I sound a bit rude but I can never understand why so many Puma owners basically endure being treated to a substandard service and wait in a huge queue just to be dealt with by a Puma 'specialist', and get charged for the privilege. It's like subservience. Been there, done that, never again :hide: So many slag off dealers yet I've always been treated satisfactorily for my Fords and Hondas.

I'm sure your recommended garage isn't like that but if they can't answer the phone for 60 minutes and you're potentially handing over £300...doesn't bode well for the future if you've got an emergency :?

Too true Bok. My dad owns a small firm that fits car accesories like alarms, tow bars etc. They have recently begun taking work from a porcshe dealership, and my dad knows how much money they can bring in, he treats them extremly well.

Well - cambelt is done in the end, at Pumabuild. Water pump was leaking too, so unsurprisingly I've been relieved of quite a bit of cash lol

Lesser of evils though...just as well the waterpump was changed as that failing could have resulted in overheating.
