Just thought I'd share this from my experience.

I fitted a lower strut brace a while back, all good, no issues. Then after a while the car developed an annoying vibration/resonance that initially I thought was my new exhaust rubbing on the body.

Turned out the engine/gearbox had 'settled' a bit on its mounts and was touching the lower strut brace, transmitting a lot of vibration into the body.

Currently my 'solution' was to jack engine up a bit and put a few wraps of silicone rubber around the brace bar where it touches the gearbox. All good, but eventually it will need a bit of surgery with a hammer I think.

Anyone else come across this?

It can be quite common. Probably could benefit from replacing the engine and or gearbox mounts...

nope, just mainly for commuting around the lanes. But I'll get some new mounts in as soon as I've got an excuse to dig that far
