Hello all.

Just wanted to introduce myself.

After a bit of hunting, I've just nabbed myself an 02 plate 1.7 Thunder (Magnum Grey) with 58K on the clock.

Had it taken to my local garage for a checkup and it's had an advisory for brake pads but otherwise all good!

Car came with full MOT and service history, all electronics working too!

Already had new sills put on prior to purchase and treatment + underseal (thankfully all OK beneath the upholstery etc, just going to be a matter of maintaining going forward).

My intention is to baby this car and to carry on giving it the love it deserves.

There's a place local to me that restores classic cars (rust treatment, prevention etc) so will be checking it in there in the next month or so just to futureproof and protect it for a while (will look at hydrophobically treating the arch liners as an aside).

Reason behind getting a Puma:

In his younger years, my dad had one back in the late 90s in red, but had to sell (he always tells me it was his biggest regret).

Fingers crossed he gets a buzz from driving one again, might help him recapture a bit of his youth.

The Puma is an absolutely cracking car and there is quite literally nothing like it still on the road nowadays.

Immaculate handling, fantastic engine and a striking design, it's a classic.

I've put a full set of UniRoyal RainSport 5 tyres to replace the older Firestones that were on at time of purchase.

Looking forward to joining such a devoted community of people with such a deep love and adoration for this car.20250205_182031(1).heic-resized.jpg1000023652.jpg1000023651.jpg

Looks fantastic. Welcome Hope to see you and your dad at up coming shows

Looks great! So sweet thinking of your Dad having fun driving it as well.

Every time I drive mine I say "it's a great little car this" and every time I floor it the performance surprises me, though it was nicely set up when I bought it. Hope you love your new car as much as your Dad loved his x

Hello

Was this the one that was for sale in Wakefield.
No it’s on sale through Trade Classics and car is based in Dumnow according to add. Last time I looked bidding was at £2500 but a few days left. Page attached but loads of photos and video on trade classics web site.
High mileage probably putting a few people off.

That looks like you've got a very nice clean car there. It's nice to see young drivers taking an interest in classic cars. I hope you enjoy owning your puma and welcome to the club. There's lots of information available here to help you keeping it on the road
