why do i have a hole for ciggerette lighter

Sounds like someone's put either the earlier ashtray or the later heater control panel in, depending on what year Puma you have. Early Pumas had the 12v socket in the ashtray, later Pumas had it on the heater control panel.

I'd call it a win if they both work; can never have too many 12v sockets!
 
Mine had the opposite! An earlier heater panel in a later car so had no lighter socket at all!!!
 
There are five types of panel and two types of ash tray, not sure any other car that was made for five years has so much choice :lol:
 
Well if the lighter in the ashtray works you have two options - either stick a lighter or 12v blanking cover in the hole or change the centre dash to an earlier one! Also SWITCH YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF!
 
Maybe someone put/was planning on putting a push-button starter in that hole at some point?
 
Just got my first Puma. No cigar lighter though. How do I run a cable through to fit one? My ashtray isn't suitable so whats the best place to fit the lighter.

All help appreciated, thanks in advance.
 
Is there no cig lighter socket in either the ashtray or panel above the ashtray? You shouldn't need to run a wire, all Pumas had a ciggy lighter so the wiring will be there somewhere.

The puma's never had these, stuff like that only come in the more modern cars - but could always be useful for that sort of thing!
 
Early Pumas had the cig lighter in the ash tray, later ones had it on the heater control panel. It's probably someone swapped your heater control panel for an early one without the hole in it.
 
Just returning to this post have filled the Dash hole with push button start ,done two pumas with this star now mine and my daughters :grin:
