Been going over the car this afternoon and under closer inspection noticed it was slightly lower on the drivers side by about 10mm, looked under the bonnet and the drivers side strut top is protruding slightly higher explaining the difference in wheel to arch clearance - anyone have a diagram of how it's all assembled? Is there a rubber donut or bearing that may have collapsed? What insulates the strut top from the bodyshell?

Ordered a Fiesta MK4 Haynes manual tonight but it will probably be a few days shipping & would like to see an exploded diagram of the assembly if anyone has one. :)

Thanks

Been stripping these down today as it happens!

Yes, there's a rubber top mount and bearing under there which may have collapsed (it sounds likely judging by your description) but you'll only really be able to determine why if you take it all apart.

as above. theres the springs, a cup that bolts over the top of the spring, the bearings, the mount, then that sits flush to the outside/underneath of the strut top, then the cup that sits over the top of the strut and is bolted down. could be the bearingl or the spring not seated properly on one side.
