Hi chaps,

Just joined this forum after purchasing a 1700 Puma which we intend to turn in to a Road Rally car.

The vehicle needs a clutch. My question is where is the best place to get a clutch for it??? everywhere seems so expensive.

Also how hard are they to do? we are "building" the car on our drive, just wonder if we could do it ourselves or a specialist workshop would be better in which case whats the going rate???

Also the paint /laquer on the roof resembles crazy paving so I intend to rub it down (roughly) and possibly vinyl wrap the roof as opposed to painting it. Anybody any experience of wrapping?

Clutch is not hard to do and can be done on a drive although I would recommend a pressure bleed kit to bleed the hydraulic system after. I have put Focus 1.8 clutches in both of my pumas and have never had a problem with them and you can buy the kits from ebay quite cheap.

Do you know which clutch cover diameter it is ? There appears to be a choice of 2

pretty sure it was a 220. the plate only just fits the puma but they work and there is more friction material than a standard puma clutch so they last longer.
