Hi.
This is a real odd one and I am not holding out much hope but you never know someone may have done it already. Amongst my collection of 1500 numbered gear knobs I have one no. 1047 where the plastic insert that has the logo and number engraved on the underside is loose and dirt has got underneath. i wish to remove it to clean it. I can only surmise that the plastic is a push fit into the recess. has anyone got any ideas how to remove the plastic insert? I have put it in boiling water, I have also frozen it....no joy. Oddly enough when it came out the freezer the plastic was even more loose, I would have thought the opposite as I expected the alloy to shrink more than the plastic. Cheers.
