I bought a cheapo bullet camera from ebay for less than thirty quid, put a sd card in it an screwed it to my track car dash.
I am pleased to report it works great :) :) :)

Being `down with the kids` I needed my 17yr old to show me how to set up a youtube account and have posted my first vid.
The camera unfortunately cuts the vid up into 3 minute clips. But thats gives me chance to pluck out some of the highlights.
This should be a link to my first posting-

Check out the cock-jockey in the kitcar on my second lap...

Not bad Stu, bargain camera. Use windows Movie maker to add all the 3 minute bits together into one video

Hi Mick. I was wondering how to make a full video (I`m not very tech savvy)
One of the best thing with a camera is that I can time my laps,
I was pleased to see I was quite consistent, improving from 86 seconds early on, to regular 83 seconds as I bedded the new brakes in..

This is the camera by the way

looks like he`s upped his price a little

yeah not bad, just a shame theres no view finder to check what your pointing it at but a nice wide angle lens so it doesnt really matter.

I use my videos to check lap times, very useful and you can see your consistency. My camera does the same, short little slots with a slight overlap, just drop all the vids from a folder into movie maker amd it will stitch them all together, save as...whatever and then upload

As an added bonus some nice fella in a Lotus Elise has posted a vid from Blyton too.
I was all over him for a couple of laps, then showed him a clean set of heels...
I pass him at 5 minutes and am out of sight by 6:30

I`m defintely happy with my camera set up,
I just need to get the hang of knowing when its working and editing the clips into full sessions.

nice one Stu, I love burning up the Lotus's...its a case of "you spent how much....lol"

I can't count how many times that has happened on a track before, seems a good camera with decent picture quality. I use my iphone and harrys lap timer app, shows speed, G's and sector times, very good app for the money.

Looking at that video from the lotus you can see why these are great track day weapons

Hi Aaron
Ive been looking at a gizmo called a Vi box It appears to hold lots of lovely datalogging info which (by some witchcraft) can be overlaid onto a video
Im not sure whether its as professional looking or in depth as what you have there but as I dont do Apple, Im stuck in the cheap seats

As for the Lotus boys, they came over for a chat, nice guys
It was odd, they were swooning over me as if I were some kind of driving god and how Id cast some spell to make the lowly Puma one of the Fastest cars in the morning (Just the usual Clios and 2-seaters passed me really)
No-one expects much out of this cheap old Ford, so when you do blow them into the bushes, you look like Lewis Hamilton

The app I have overlays the data onto the video and if connected to a suitable OBD will show revs, the only downside to this app is the speed is out by around 10-15%. On most trackdays I have had people checking out what's under the bonnet as they don't believe it's a humble puma, Lewis hamilton I am not but it's a great feeling when cars are having to pull over to let you past wether it's a metro or a m3.

Well I`ve been playing with Windows Movie Maker.
And I`ve managed to stitch together a full session from Blyton last week.
What do you make of my editing?

I`m at Rockingham next weekend. Am I right in thinking they have rules about publishing incar video?
