I`m about to fit my new engine to the track car.
I have some FRP cams which I was hoping to fit while the motor is out.
I was to borrow the necessary timing tool, but havent received it yet.
and need to crack on as I`m at Cadwell in a week and a half..

If I fit the FRP cams and time them with a standard tool,
would any damage be caused to the engine?
as I can do that tomorrow and time them up correctly later.

How difficult is it to advance the exhaust cam by the necessary amount by hand?

Thanks in advance, Stu..

If not clear, I guess you should contact the author, Pumanoob....

It`s Erroll I`m borrowing the tool off
and, as ever, he has been a total godsend with info and help.
but i`m struggling to get hold of him..

He did tell me that the difference with the timing is that the exhaust cam is advanced by a few degrees,
I`m just wondering whether anyone has done this with a gauge, looking for a quick fix. I want this engine in asap...

Well once again Pumanoob has come good.
The link above answers my question and demonstrates how this becomes positively easy
especially with the motor out...

tomorrow will see the grinder come out..
