Heater fan broken?

Post by JiiHu » Tue Apr 14, 2015 4:21 pm

My Puma started to do this weird sound today and it changes according to the heater fan position. If the heater fan is turned off, it stops. Is it heater fan? Can it even be anything else? Fan also chirped at the winter. Here is a video I shot:

New heater fans seem quite pricey on Ebay, when shipping to Finland included. About 100-200 euros. Would anyone have an idea if Cougar heater fan fits to Puma? Or some other Ford's? Also, this propably can't be fixed with just some WD40?

My guess its either the fan bearing itself or something got in there leaves or something else.

Its a pig of a job to take out the dash if that's what you end up having to do :(

Good luck with it

I stand corrected my apologies I thought it was in the main heater blower box inside the car.

You don't have to; apparently that link is wrong. I went to my Puma and did a little investigation and the main heater blower is located inside the car, in the passengers footwell (my Puma is LHD). It seems that whole dash needs to be removed, but not 100% sure about this. Is there some guide how to remove the dash?
