Hello there, i drive a 99 puma 1.7 and lately has lost power and engine sounds really wrong. I have found a trouble code p1383 camshaft position overetarded. Live readings for cambelt show alternating too high/ too low readings for the cambelt. I am very scared of this. Has anyone dealt with this? is it possible cambelt skipped teeth? please help, as i have covered clost to 1000km with these simptoms i just found. Many thanks in advance :-(
 
I'm no expert ,but just searched for your problem and found it might be your VCT stuck or faulty. Might not be correct but something to check out.

T'was my intake camshaft cogwheel, something made it wear unusually which kept moving my belt a bit off :-( hope it's only that :grin:
