Hi all I have a 2001 1.7 puma with a snapped cambelt. Im looking to go down the route of swapping the engine over with another good engine. Im guessing that mine will be a mhb engine because of the year.
Im wondering whether a mha engine from an earlier car would fit.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers, csaab

It'd fit, but you might find it a better option to just swap the head over, as the replacement would have potential cambelt failure too (unless you knew that it had been changed)

Thanks for the help. Im not looking to spend a huge amount on the car and it seems a head and head gasket set is more expensive than an engine. I will fit a cambelt to the new engine.
Are all the sensors the same and in the same places etc?

Yours is an MHB but the changes are internal, either will fit.

If you want me to quote on it, let me know where you are and mileage/budget.
