I'm desperately trying to figure out why the airbag light in my car doesn't work. I've been told that I might have to change the crash sensor but I can't find the bloody thing. Anyone knows where it is located and would it be a likely culprit for the airbag light to not light up?

Thanks

Hi quest! How ya doing mate?

I've been told it should be in the front of the car, usually close to the radiator. I've been snooping around that area but I don't see it...

Is the light not coming on at all? If so, I had the same problem a little while ago. In the end I figured out it was th cluster. Swapped it for a spare one and it fixed it

Is yours a digital dash model? If so you can do a bulb check on it by holding in the trip reset whilst turning the ignition on.

Yep. Light is as dead as a doorknob. I've changed the airbags, one pretensioner and the module (car was in an accident) but so far I got no results. I've also checked the fuse and I took the cluster out to check for signs of tampering. Everything checked out. quest63 also hinted that the problem might lie with the cluster and has one for sale...but I need one which measures in KPH...

Yes. It's a digital clock. I did just that. The airbag light did not come on. But then again neither did the ABS or Traction control and those work normally when I start the car.

It's not the cheapest, but maybe they'll take an offer...

Thanks for the link mate. Sadly, that cluster does not have traction control...

Couldn't you get some of those custom dial cards to go over my dials that are in KPH?

The type of thing that I think were called white dial kits or something like that back in the day.

Back in the day when I did my apprenticeship on the Stegosaurus farm :-D
