Power steering pipe

Post by Seg10538 » Thu May 16, 2019 1:06 pm

Hi does anyone have a ‘high pressure ‘ power steering pipe available ? Car currently in garage waiting for this part,I’m not even sure what the thing looks like !?
It’s a 2000 1.7 and I’ve gone beyond the sensible amount to spend now so need to sort it but can’t find any for sale

Good point Sinisa!

For sale on eBay - but you also need the unions which add on another £30!

Power steering pipe

Post by Wild E. Coyote » Thu May 16, 2019 2:59 pm

Ouch, that is SOME price and then some....

I bet it has rotten away at the front twisted section which is there just to provide for PSP switch next to A/C compressor. There is some rubber to protect it, but it is turned so that opening is at the top; the moisture and crap collect there and it is just a question of time after that...
My suggestion would be to repair it the same way I had mine repaired

I’d agree, I’d try and get the pipe repaired in the first instance, it’s only a metal tube that’s corroded.....
