Hi,

I managed to melt one of the fuel lines while welding in some roll cage footplates.

I have removed the old plastic line and am trying to fit a spare I had to the metal part.
It was left it in boiling water for ten minutes before fitting it and have lubed up the pipe to get it started.

I have managed to get it so far using a hairdryer to heat it up then try to push it further on but it needs to move by maybe an inch more but I can't seem to move it any further.

Any hints or tips from people who have done this in the past please?

Cheers,
Ben.

Hi,

I've done a bit of testing with a spare brake pipe and the broken line and you can't re-use these. They get too brittle and don't clamp properly the second time.

Rubber/Nylon hose it is then!

Cheers,
Ben.
