Ford Puma Thunder
March 2002
1.7L
Moondust Silver
100,720 miles
MOT due: April 2018
My wife and I have owned our Puma for a little over two years and racked up over 30,000 miles with it being our only car and daily driver. This Puma has done all that could be asked of it, including multiple long distance journeys in Britain and one to southwestern France via Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans and has not missed a beat! I am selling it as my wife and I are emigrating to the USA.
In my time as owner, I've kept up with servicing and made sure all maintenance carried out has used genuine or upgraded parts and it has great documentation on this.
Major things done during our ownership:
-New rear shock absorbers last MOT, April 2017 (only one was leaking, but I had both replaced)
-Ignition coil fouled up last year, so it has a new ignition coil, HT leads and spark plugs
-Cam cover gasket leaked oil, so replaced it and have checked it regularly; no further leak since replacement
-Rear subframe bushings replaced with Powerflex polyurethane bushings with lifetime guarantee (they have added more rigidity and stability to the rear end)
-Nearside headlight replaced due to a previous owner using a wrong wattage bulb which melted the connector
-Swapped out the air filter for a Pipercross panel filter—I can't say it does lots, but I'm sure induction noise has been enhanced
The interior is in brilliant condition, not even factoring in age or mileage, with no rips, discolouration or stains in the leather or plastics. It just has a rattle now and again, a slightly loose driver’s door card and the steering wheel rim could look a bit better, but everything works: heated front screen, rear screen and door mirrors, electric mirrors, electric windows, A/C, radio and 6 CD changer (slightly temperamental).
The bodywork has the common rear wheel arch rust and signs of rust on the lower door opening. In Spring 2016 it had some welding on the underside of the sills. There are also the usual signs of use with stone chips on the front and marks where people have rested their doors in car parks(!). We also had someone damage the rear bumper and drive off without a note! We didn’t have spare funds for replacement or respray. We’ve been careful of not curbing the wheels and they’re in reasonable to good condition (albeit very difficult to clean), but there’s still great tread on the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres all round.
It comes with one remote locking key, one central locking key with immobilizer and a couple of non-immobilizer keys.
Ideally, we will use the car until we leave at the end of the month (August 2017), but I’m happy to discuss possibilities. We are based in the Leeds/Harrogate area.
