Newbie starting a project

Morning All

Im new to the Puma scene. I have just purchased a 1.7 Y reg panther black puma.

Needs new clutch as this has totally gone. I will be collecting the car on Sunday and putting straight in the Garage as im going to look to strip it and make it into a track/show car.

Any ideas and thoughts will be welcome

Welcome sir.

First job should be a rust check. Get all four wheels off the ground and check the sills. So many projects are abandoned due to finding rust, so find and fix it before you start.

I'd also recommend driving it a bit first because they are loooads of fun :eek:k:
 
Thanks for that advice. As soon as I got a clutch in it I will drive it.

Looks like I will be learning to weld fairly soon lol
 
Suprised no one has mentioned it, but cam belt will need doing if not been done recently (and by someone who knows what they are doing!). Can't remember the exact details but I think it's max of 5 years or 70k/80k miles, which ever is sooner.

And when you get the clutch replaced make sure you get the master cylinder done at the same time.
