Sorry if this is a daft question I am new to this - but here goes, can anyone tell me what the rubbery ribbed hosepipe thing is that is under the driver's seat - one end is not attached to anything and can't quite tell what the other end is fixed to.

If you have an early car with a seat adjustment switch on the front of the seat it could be the protective shroud for the wiring to the switch or the motor or with early and late cars it could be the protective shroud to the seat belt pre-tensioners.
