Hi guys

Picking up my 1.7 Puma next week and was just wondering if there were any owners in or around my area (South Yorkshire/North Derbyshire) that knew of any decent reputable specialists for servicing and repairs etc.

I can do some bits myself but wanted somewhere as backup if needed.

Cheers

Andrew

Morning Andrew,

Can't recommend Chris Allison enough. He's worked his magic on both my FRP and my standard Puma. He's in Nottingham but well worth the drive, my FRP is with him as we speak!

Pumaspeed in Wakefield look after Pumas. I tend to use a local enthusiastic Indy garage for most work though.

Thanks all

I had seen some information on the forum about Allison Automotive and the quality of the work looked great, so I think I may be ringing Chris in the next few weeks.

Cheers

In terms of spares availability and trim items etc. are there any specific breakers that specialise in Puma bits?

I need a new rubber for the passengers side door where the glass slides down (the one on the outside of the door) as the end has gone a bit crispy where the metal strip inside has rusted and made the rubber go all wrinkled. Also, the front rubber splitter trim has seen better days and one of the string hangers has a broken clip where it holds the parcel shelf onto the hatch.

There are a couple of small cigarette burns in the drivers seat; has anybody used one of the DIY repair kits that are on E-Bay? Any good?

I am looking forward to tinkering with it over the winter to bring it up to show standard. Its a 2001 car with 53,00 miles and one lady owner from new with full Ford service history all stamped up. Once I get it, I'll post some pictures; how easy is that to do; do they have to be a certain size?

Anyway, I think that's it for now. No doubt I'll be back with loads of other questions once I get started to tap into the wealth of knowledge that is out there on this forum.

Cheers

Andrew
