did some wiring and tinkering today, started by fitting a For Racing Boost gauge:

fitted my Emarld 3-way ECU switch next to the push button start

started on the wiring loom for the Race Technologies Dash and control switches

As i'm removing the A/C and moving the PAS pump to the front of the engine it needs a new feed pipe from the PAS tank to the pump, basically I've wrapped this with Samco tape to make it fit in with all the other hoses (1st time being a Nurse has come in handy, bandaging skills put to the test!)

also started working out where all the Aeroquip fittings go, took a while but this is most of it (minus all the braided hoses)

I really don't think pictures like that should be allowed on this forum!
Loving this project... much jealousy oozing from every orifice

I must admit it's been a long time getting to this point, to say I'm getting excited would be a gross understatement!!!

I am really impressed that his wife let him put all of that on a table in the house!

battery removed

Aircon bits removed

Aircon pipes blanked off

I know, unfortunately Lightning motorsport still haven't finished building my engine, 3 months now and counting! I have been assured it shouldn't be much longer, I'm told all the machining work is done...

little update from Lightning motorsport HQ today
Engine painted in Imperial blue, steel liners added

nice bit of honing to the cylinder bores

crank has been lapped as the journals were a little rough

keyway added to crank

Custom made turbo spec cams

Painted rocker

All laid out ready for final build

The heart of the beast

Niceeeey!
I have, like, 100 questions!
What is the ID of the bores? What pistons are you using?
What piston rings?
I have been meaning to do that; if the liners are steel, you can use whatever rings you like as you don't have the trouble of matching nikasil.....
Looks really nice, a credit to your car!

Haha, bore is original spec, Pistons are low compression ones by wossner, rings are the standard ones that come with the pistons

So you had the pistons custom made?
What are the big end bearings you are using?

Wossner now list the Pistons for both high and low compression applications, the bearings are a HD version from Lightning Motorsport, the rods are also from LM and are also forged

couple of updates, got some new pics from Lightning Mortorsport HQ, engine build is underway!

ive also made some good progress on fitting my digidash too, spent a whole day soldering wires and heatshrinking those connections, testing wires and fiddling about with settings with the laptop, got a little more tinkering to do with it and il post up pics/vids

Judging by the notches on pistons, you went for the high compression ones?

I can see your logic, they are actually low compression Pistons, it's hard to see in the picture but there is a pocket that covers most of the surface that lowers the compression, the edges close the gap against the cylinder head that's why it has the deep valve cut outs, the high compression version has no pocket

Impressive looking engine that! Really loves that Chris (always) makes the bottom end of the engine in Imperial/Racing Blue.
