Stolen

As a few of you know the car was stolen from my house.
They have broke into the house and had taken the keys, along with our laptops, Mrs H1JJY handbag with mobile and my PS3.
We found the bag but nothing else.

Until I got a letter from the police a few days later, saying they have recovered my car.

So off I went to have a look at it and found it like this

Looking like suspension damage i have spoken to the insurance company to sort

Thieving gits.

Judging by those pictures, I reckon it'll probably get written off :-(

easily fixable with 2nd hand parts though if you fancy it. If youre fitting the bits yourself you could probably have that back and running for <200

I gave him a bumper, door and some wheels so I assume its mix-fix. Didn't have a wing though and still don't.

(there is more to come)

So I made the decision to try and fix it myself. If not able to fix i could brake it for parts.

The car was recovered without keys. this was not a big problem as luckily I had the key code so had one cut so we could move the car.

Also have been lucky as my parents have a large garage and have the space to store the Puma there so i could sorted the Puma.

A very nice friend from bumble automotive lent me a small Hyundai so i was not without a car.

Got the car back and had a quick look. It looked like it was just suspension and wheel damage.

Pick up a cheap set of Spax springs and shocks and was lent another spare wheel from a friend. The shocks where for a early puma (fork type).
The front shock i have taken off was bent in a number of places and was a bitch to get out and the front wheel was looked like a egg.
Fitted the front shocks and changed the bent wheels for the spares and look straight
and pulled the wing out and didnt look all that bad

.

So the next job was to get the car running again.

As the key i had cut would lock the car it was not programed to the car, also knowing that who ever stole the car still had a set of keys and knew where the car lived.
And would have to changed the locks.
From eaby i have picked up a set of locks, ECU, key and clocks (didnt need the clocks but came with it and was cheap, anyone need a set of clocks with 15k(have not checked the yet) give a me a PM)

Changed the ECU, ring and the ignition lock. And holding my breath the Puma started and gave it a run around the block to make sure it all work and drove straight. Which it did.

also changed the wheel for one i pick up that was in better condition and to fit the rest of the locks.

Not the next job was to sort the bodywork.
I need a new wing, door 2 wheels and could do with some work on the front bumper and rear wing.
Found a bumper, door, boot (needed to change it anyway) in the right color and 2 wheels from Ian P and found a wing at a locale barkers.

The Puma as been running fine for a few weeks, but with the green wing and the damage to the back wing, it didn't look the best.

Been wondering what i could do with it and have been looking into getting it wrapped. But could not afford the cost.
After a chat with Damon we decided we could give it a go, so just a little over a week away from Ford Fair I got started.
Need to sort out a few rust patches and damage.

Also made £20 at the scrap yard for my bent wheels and bodywork.
Also made £60 from eBay on old locks, shocks and left over parts

Matt wrapping... that is Damn Cool!!!

I have to say though... I can still see the damaged area on the N/S rear quarter.

But apart from that... What a come-back!!!

shame you can still see the damage under it on the rear quarter otherwise would have been a fantastic job
