Been a year to the day since my project was updated, it's really messy to view/look through, so started a new 'easy to read' version I'll keep on top of.

I'm going for 80-90% track focused, not a daily but used for the road. I'll be keeping most of the electrics incl the heater and A/C and be slowly upping the power while remove as much weight as functionally possible.

Target Weight - 900kg (Standard kerb weight:1035kg)
Target Power - 140-150bhp/ton (Standard 118bhp/ton)

01/02/15 - Rolling Road Day at AMD showed 138.4 bhp at the wheels, weight will be very near 900kg once lightweight bonnet and some other bits are removed meaning I'm close to hitting the upper target of 150bhp/ton!

Intention is to have a little bit more poke on the straights but most all have more fun on the bends!

Most recent works included:
Replacement fexi on the 421 and custom support mount fitted by Flowtech 15/11/15

Latest Developments

Lightweight Track Lamp Shields (DIY Creation)
Waiting on arrival of Carbon Wrapped Fibreglass mtec Bonnet

2000 1.7 on 79k now, after buying had full service, cambelt rocker gasket and waterpump change. mudflaps, eibach springs, rear beam/front lower/front rear PF bushes, piper panel filter, gel badges, flat wipers, smoked side lens, osram bulbs.

Initially had a Powerflow Backcat fitted for a gutsy sound, but was just far too loud so kept the centre section and fitted a standard backbox which later wad swapped for a 3" Piper. Currently mated it to a Sportex 4-2-1 off ebay I refurbished, used- thinners, kurust, wire pipe cleaner, Rustoleum Heatpaint 650c and heatwrap.

Clutch was beginning to slip so swapped for a 220mm 1.8 focus one and new puma slave, few gaskets for the exhaust, new genuine top mounts and bearings and some other bits.

Real carbon fibre FRP splitter and after it fell off on the way to Trax in 2012, Adjustable Stainless Steel Support Rods from Rallynuts, got some 6K HID so I could actually see at night, changed rear polys for standard but prob be swapping back.

Carried out the FRP airbox mod removed the resonator box and added a heatproof air feed (had to cut the grill back) as well as reflective heat tape round the airbox and induction hose to keep the air that entered cool.

To help further the MAF was ported and knive-edged and the sensor cleaned. To improve throttle response fitted a 2.0l mondeo si throttle body which was ported and knive-edged too. Treated them both to the heatpaint same as the 4-2-1

Needed something better to hold me in place to enjoy tracktime, so a pair of cobra frames for £40 and a separate auction for cobra buckets off ebay for £40 did the trick, looked a mess but soon sorted that with elbow grease and fabric spray. I've now fitted Sparco Rev's which are a million times better.

Initially I was going for 300mm st170/mondeo mk3 discs/calipers which in 9 out of 10 cases I'd need 16" wheels for so brought a set of 16" Speedline Turini with where joined to Rainsport2 tyres

Decided in the end to opt for the ST150 setup as you can get Ferodo DS2500 pads which interested me. Just so happens the used set a brought came with them! Refurb them and painted white and added little details, also fitted hel braided hoses and use ATE super blue racing fluid.

Seemed to have a red theme going on so stuck with it. Created a mesh for the front grill, sprayed some interior bits, few track decals, front bonnet pins and this is how it looked for its maiden Trackday at Rockingham.

Brought a Lower Strut Brace, don't like the common red omp colour and something bright coloured under the car so painted it with the Rustoleum Heatpaint I used for my exhaust.

Got send a battery clamp off Gary (quest63) - Cheers mate! Spiced it up along with my tax disc.

Picked up some Puma OEM Props for track use I know they're the correct offset and got them for £20 with tyres! Upon looking inside them though.

They were all like that, baked on oil, grit, stones and cement! After a couple of hours with various tools, tar remove and acid..getting there.

IMAG0187_zps95510de9.jpg

didn't take much to clear the rest up and first coat of primer.

IMAG0192_zps1af54df9.jpg

Sanded down any small rim chips and key'd the front ready for primer.

IMAG0189_zps460ec2f9.jpg

Primed and finished ready for painting, having the center circle area blue and the rest red.

& a little word of advice mate! Make sure you squeeze in as many mods as you can before you get married, just incase some of your budget gets used for shoes & stuff! :p

Too right! :eek:k:

Had my OSR wheel bearing replaced for a proper ford one at Steavies yesterday, top job as always, then went on to Boreham to collect my AP's from Aaron's, truely nice bloke and could have stayed all afternoon oogling at his 3 FRP's but I had to get on to my parents, thanks mate well chuffed with them!

IMAG0238_zpsa0ac11c8.jpg

Brought an alternator heat shield off eBay for pennies and wrap the top in CF warp and a ford racing stainless battery cover.

IMAG0217_zps271cd2b8.jpg

Also brought some pedals and ford badges to fit to my seats.

IMAG0213_zpse63ae929.jpg

OK it looks totally banana's and reminds me of a circus but it does fit the Red, White and Blue theme I'm seemed to have, I don't actually know if I like it! Might do two like this and the other two reversed so they'll have Red centers and Blue Fans...suppose it doesn't matter really as its just for the track...one nearly completed (still needs lacquer)

IMAG0234_zps5aaaf752.jpg

Really torn now after staring at it for 5 mins, lol, I'm not so keen on the colour pattern but I don't wana tape it up and paint it again. Think I'll try two like this and the other two reversing the Red and Blue so I'll have two different ones each side.

I does look a little funny :p But hey, It's for a track car. I'd stay stick with it.

Cheers, doing one more the same anyway now, think I've grown to like them already but and may still reverse the other two.

All done. Here's the two different combo's together which will be on each side of the car on track, love em now
