Hello,

After the sad end of my old puma 1.6 black panther,
I finally found the Grail

an 1.7 puma S, German origin, amparo blue color,
with Recaro leather interior, AC functionnal, windshield defrosting ...

i have some work to do:

first, a good engine and brake revision

and after I search a solution to repair the seat

Well done Alex, that will be a v. smart looking Puma once those bits sorted...nice colour... :eek:k:
Re. the lip on the front with the lights on top? That aftermarket or German Ford issue?

yes, i really like this color to
it is quite rare in France

the fog light on front lip it's not a genuine part,
but a modification made by a previous owner
i'ts no functionnal for the moment ... probably a fail on the wiring or the relay ...

Are there many Pumas in France? I get the feeling they may be quite rare now compared to numbers in the uk. I've just come back from a weeks holiday driving around in France and I didn't see a single one!

I just saw many, many renaults and peugeots- I wish the British were as patriotic with our cars...

In France, it's not a popular car as Golf GTI, Clio RS, or Peugeot 106/206 S16

it's quite rare, because they are less of 10 000 puma sold since 97
 
In France, we have this color only on Puma 1.7 S with recaro leather interior or on Puma 1.4 S (the latest 1.4 sold on french market)

Some new parts are arrived to refresh the Puma under the bonnet





Ford coolant, Motul 5w40 engine oil, Motul 75w90 gearbox oil, Motul Dexron III for steering, and rbf600 for brake

new oil and gas filter, spark plugs, cambelt and auxiliary belt ....


When i have changed spark plug,
i take compression of the cylinder

Here are some news about this Puma:

I have recently bought an Tape ecu with FRP map with 2 transponders for my 1.7 puma,

but when i have install the ecu, car doesn't start ... the pats light on the clock flash
i try with the other transponder ... i have the same problem

i go to ford garage to reprogramm the 2 key ... with the ids

and that failed ... because when the ids lauch the diag sequency, it found DTC on pats


Someone an idea to help me reprogram the key ?

I do not know what to do ... perhaps retry to programm with 2 news transponder

Just as a sidenote, having seen the compresion test, but we are most probably all in the same boat given the age of our cats: Ford says the compression pressure at starter speed should be 12.5 bars

Ok, this I understand. The PATS flight is flashing, meaning the transponders are not coded to the TAPE PCM you obtained

This part I have trouble understanding. Did it find some DTC's? Do you have them or know which are they? That would be most helpful info here as the way I look at it, there is more chance that your PCM is faulty, than BOTH of the keys failing at the same time

I don't know what type of fog light it is ... i think it's not ford genuine part ...
it's one of the previous owner who this modification ... but it's not a perfect installation ...

The DTC is about using incorrect pats key and i can't get the security access at the begin

i retry to programm the key this sunday and finaly I succeeded

This time, i used IDS with VCM1 and not VCM2

i get the security access, i have erased all the key in the pats memory,
and i finally created 2 coded key ...

it's not easy ... i had problem with a no genuine key chip .... it's was impossible to programm it
I had to recover a genuine key chip in a old red key to successfully program the minimum 2 key





Now, i have a little problem with the FRP (TAPE) Ecu
My genuine ECU is a DIVE and when i swapp the TAPE ECU, i haven't the cooling temp on the gauge diag ... it's alway cold

i have to modify the ecu loom ?
