Hi everybody after taking my millenium puma to ford fair I decided that I needed to update my Millie project topic that I started last year. Unfortunately I can't find it so I'm starting a new one. I got my Millie on the off chance actually for £250. Unfortunately when I bought it it came with steel wheels and escort gti front seats and also no stereo. In fairness it needed a lot of love put into it. The original plan for getting was to be a second car that I could use for days at Santa pod but shortly after getting it I realised how good pumas were and found out that Millie's are limited edition pumas. So the first thing I wanted to do was to get the original seats in it and proper alloy wheels for her. Scouring the Internet and eBay I came across a Millie that was for sale. I messaged the owner who said she only wanted £100 for it and that it did a fair bit of work for the next mot which was due to run out shortly. I thought to myself great a donor for my Millie. I said to the lady I would have it but she said she was unable to remove it from the auction so I had to bid at the end for it and she would honor our agreement of £100 what ever it finally sold for. I put in my final winning bid for it which was £320 and messaged the seller to say this. She said to me that she didn't realise it would go for that much and would I be willing to give her £200 for it. I explained that we agreed on £100 but I could only stretch to £150 which she agreed. Great I got my second Millie for £150. Long story short I got the train down to collect it and realised by the time I got it home it really did need a lot of work. The next day I swapped the seats from mine with the recaros in the donor. Also swapped the wheels over and made a start on stripping the rest of the car. I sold the front parts and the rear seats for a total of £150 so the car owes me nothing. Unfortunately shortly after getting my first Millie it was mot time in the September and sad to say it failed. Mainly on brake hoses and handbrake cable adjustment and also rear number plate lights not working but also the usual need of welding under the outer sills. This was a sad time for me as I loved driving her but could no longer do so until these things had been done. So I set about getting the front brake hoses which my dad replaced for me and I replaced the rear number plate lights. After a while my dad adjusted my handbrake cable which I now think needs replacing totally. The last and only thing left to do was the welding. This took me around 7-8 months to get done but with some help from a friend it was done. Next was to rebook the mot. I put it in and was so nervous whilst I was waiting. The result came in and the mot tester said that my front drivers side brake caliper was locking but said he would advise to me I sort it immediately but didn't fail it or put it as advisory. I was grateful for him passing Millie for me and I set out that same day to order new pads disks and calipers. Now that Millie had passed her mot I could set out to do all the other things I wanted to do. I got the brakes that I ordered and replaced all those. I had bought coilovers and another exhaust during the time she was off the road so next was to get those fitted for me. My friend did those for me and then she was ready for ford fair. Unfortunately when I got the car as I said she needs some love put into her and that is especially true of the front bumper and both wings which is next to do on my list. I did spray my alloys anthracite as they were black but I wanted a different colour. I have also repainted my engine cover got myself a puma battery cover and put in a cone filter. I also bought and fitted pressed plates for Millie but unfortunately lost the front one on the motorway going to Southampton recently. So new plates are in order.
